Boots stopped my Mounjaro at a healthy BMI, seeking maintenance provider

Boots were my constant provider for the year I was on Mounjaro. Once I reached a ‘healthy BMI’ they cut me off with an email saying congrats but no more MJ for you! I was hoping to continue on a low dose for a while longer! So disappointed with Boots 😒 and now looking at a provider who will take me on for maintenance! Any recommendations?

Try Bolt Pharmacy.

Backawayfromthesausage · 26/04/2026 07:50

Monj.co.uk has a list of maintence pharmacies.

SilenceInside · 26/04/2026 07:56

Swift Doctor or Pharmulous are two that are specifically clear about maintenance. Or any on the list from the Monj maintenance page. I’m currently using Swift Doctor and they have been great so far.

GlosGirl82 · 26/04/2026 07:57

Ooh thank you! Wanted to ask the too

QueenOfHiraeth · 26/04/2026 17:01

I'm with SwiftDoctor and just about to start titrating down.
I paid £30 for a maintenance consultation with one of their clinicians (it was really helpful advice) but now get £10 off every order so will recoup that and more. They allow lots of flexibility in maintenance as regards upping and downing dose, not ordering every month, etc
How long ago did Boots stop your MJ? You may have to restart at 2.5 if it has been more than a certain time

YourFastOP · 26/04/2026 17:34

@QueenOfHiraeth Thanks for this! I reckon 2.5 is likely as it has been over a month! I will just be grateful if they say yes! Forcing me to go cold turkey (especially when there was a mountain of Easter chocolate in the house) was no joke!

Swift are great. £30 for a consultation and then you get £10 off each pen. I’m using 5mg and can get away with ordering every 7/8 weeks so all good.

SilenceInside · 26/04/2026 17:41

I would also say that I think SwiftDoctor would be ok with it being a month since your last order, or even it’s a couple of weeks longer. What dose were you on?

YourFastOP · 26/04/2026 17:46

@SilenceInside I was on 5 when they cut me off! I planned to stay on 5 for a bit longer then go down to 2.5 ( hoping 2.5 would minimise the food noise… but I did not have the chance to test this). 😐

Thanks everyone! You have given me hope! 🥳

That really puts me off using Boots - it is fairly obvious that most people will need to nitrate down or stay on a maintenance dose. I hope they lose business as they’ve shown no care over your longer term position.

YourFastOP · 26/04/2026 18:43

@kiwiane Boots were great until they err weren’t! I was a bit blindsided by their approach! Perhaps I made some assumptions of them! I anticipated they would support me and it would be a bit more of a partnership approach to maintaining but no… it felt fairly brutal! 😒

Send them a copy of the last prescription you were given. It's only been 4 weeks not 8, they won't put you back on 2.5 or at least Bolt won't.

I think Swift would give you 5 if you have a consultation and explained you’d been taking 5mg without a gap (and had ordered within past 7-8 weeks).

Mysticmaiden · 26/04/2026 21:52

Oushk, it's £5 for 6 months maintenance plan and you get a £25 discount off each pen. They allow you to go down to the lower bmis (19) too that a lot cut off at and let you order every 6 weeks. I'm bmi 22.0 currently.

YourFastOP · 26/04/2026 22:44

@Mysticmaiden Thanks for the info and well done to you! It is good to feel I have options! 😀

A quick update and thank you to you all! I have just been approved by Swift Doctor🎉 (back to 2.5 mg which I am fine about). Appreciate the guidance ⭐️
