Can someone explain insulin needles to me please?

My new pen has unexpectedly turned up with a bonus dose still. I usually break the pen with my teeth (I can’t think why they’re stopping the bonus dose 😂) but I don’t think I’m going to make it up to 5mg so I need to be able to take the bonus dose in parts. So insulin needles, anyone have any links to ones to buy? And is it like the MJ pen, you just put in your tummy not very far?

I buy mine on amazon. Sterile ones obviously. They are used the same way and are just a little bit thicker.

Buy from an online pharmacy not Amazon. You need 1ml syringes with a gauge of 30 or 32g and a needle length between 4 and 8mm which is a subcutaneous injection needle length.

Ones like these for example: https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk

You extract the medication via the red seal. Check how much is in the syringe, 0.6ml is a full dose from any strength pen. Flick to remove air bubbles and then prime, then inject as you would with the pen. With a needle length of 4 to 8mm that will always be a subcutaneous injection, so no need to worry about how far to insert it.

If you want less than a full dose, you’d need to work out how many ml you need. So 0.3ml would be a half dose etc.

No worries @june7836 happy to help. I had a lot of assistance from people when I was just starting to think about Mounjaro, and in the first few months, so I don’t mind paying it back.

Another vote for this company, I buy these as they are cheaper. https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/1ml-8mm-30g-bd-microfine-syringe-and-needle-u100-bd-320935-ukmedi-co-uk
