6 week holiday - how to prep for no WLI

What should I do now to prepare for a 6 week holiday away from MJ in July? Currently on 7.5mg.

Or do I just take the last injection the day I leave and hope for the best?

Can't you just take the pens with you? I don't think I would want a long break, unless you're at target and would be maintaining, maybe?

I've just googled and it says you can take the injections on a plane but they must be in your hand luggage

I'll be in the middle of nowhere with no fridges. It'll be impossible to keep an open pen cold.

You don’t need to store an open pen in the fridge.

Thank you so much. I've always kept my open pens in the fridge and didn't know you could leave out once opened.

I've now done some reading and should be ok.

Have a look at Frio pouches. Someone on here suggested them to me before my hols last year and worked well

I’ve done trips needing to take 2 pens. I take a dose from the new one leaving 2 doses in the first. Then both don’t need refrigeration.
I finish the first pen then the other one.
I wouldn’t risk being without mine. I eat more on holidays anyway.

Using a dose doesn’t magically make the pen OK to store at room temperature!

You can (scientifically, not necessarily what it says on the leaflet), keep an open or unopened pen at room temperature for a month - the Mounjaro chemically degrades at the same rate whether it’s open or not.

Personally, I’d take enough to last for the whole 6 weeks and risk the last 2 weeks having slightly less active dose (it degrades gradually over time) than risk messing up my weight loss journey.

I wouldn’t keep a part used pen for more than the month though because of the risk of infection - the preservative in the pen may not work as well after that time.

You can keep a used or unused pen unrefrigerated. You don't need to use it to "allow" it to be unrefridgerated.

But once unrefrigerated or once used manufacturer says should be used within 30 days.

first jab from a new pen the pen is day 8 of her holiday, Pen first opened.
sexond jab is day 15 day 7 for pen
third jab is day 22 day 14 for pen,
4 jab is day 30 day 21 for pen
bonus dose, day 37 day 28 for pen, so only open for 28 days. Discard pen.
‘comes home dat 42, jabs when home.

as such, one pen does her the whole six weeks, and is used within 3o days.
