Threw Out Prescription Box - Now What?!

I was just completing the form on one of the online pharmacies to get more 5mg of Mounjaro only to realise that I accidentally threw out the box with the prescription on it!

Is there a way around this, or shall I just fill out the form as if I was a new starter? But if I did that would I guarantee getting 5mg? I did 4 weeks on 2.5 but the food noise was still there and I'm finding the 5mg much better at keeping it quiet.

I'm so angry at myself.

Can’t you order from the same pharmacy? They will know what they recently prescribed to you and when without the box as proof.

FoxRedPuppy · 14/04/2026 15:15

I never once used the box. I stayed with same provider throughout.

If you're using the same pharmacy it doesn't matter at all. If it's a new pharmacy, they may accept other evidence of your previous prescription, like a screenshot of an order, or info from the NHS app showing the prescription (if the pharmacy notified your GP and your GP added it to your medications), if you have the NHS app available, or similar.

Of course! Do you know, it never crossed my mind to stay with the same pharmacy - I was shopping around for a cheaper one.

Thank you 😊

If shopping around for a new provider, confirmation of your order from the first provider will work or a screenshot from your NHS App of the letter to your GP with drug and dose also works.

I threw out my first box too!

Always take a photo of the box when it arrives, it can come in handy.

Yes, this is what I plan to do as soon as I receive it.

Yeah you will have to use the same pharmacy for this one then you can shop around going forward. And as someone else said, take a pic as soone as you get it, then you always have it. .

Excellent 😊 It can also come in handy in case you're ever asked for proof of a prescription in other situations- some people worry about being asked at airports, for example. Basically it just can't hurt to have it.

I've just changed to Medicine Marketplace (ordered and completed verification yesterday, meds arrived today!) and they accepted a screenshot of the confirmation email from my last provider without any issues.
