Mounjaro and Tamoxifen?

Good evening,
has anyone had any issues in getting mounjaro whilst being on tamoxifen?

I was on it for 9 months successfully, stopped due to BC diagnosis in December, but have been successfully treated and cured with surgery and radio, now on tamoxifen.
I would like to restart Mounjaro as my weight is piling on, tamoxifen doesn’t help.

just wondering if anyone has had an issue with it?

Watching with interest as I started Mounjaro in May-25, diagnosed with BC in Aug-25. I had surgery in Nov/Dec 25 and started chemo in Feb-26. I carried on with the Mounjaro until starting chemo, I'm hoping to start again when I finish but I'll still have radiotherapy and hormone treatment to go.

@MissFizzyPopsorry to hear you’ve had this shit thing too! I hope you’re doing ok?

I’ve put on 2 stone since coming off. I applied to Farmaci and I had an email back saying I need permission from my GP or oncologist?

Hi!

My oncologist actually suggested GLP-1. I piled on weight during chemo for breast cancer, and then the medical menopause, aromatase inhibitor first then Tamoxifen etc, made it impossible to lose it. The oncologist sent me to an endocrinologist, who tried me on Metformin first (but I couldn't tolerate side effects), and then Mounjaro.

I've been on Mounjaro since November 2024. Lost around 35kg. Healthy weight since last summer. Now maintaining (while still taking Mounjaro - I've been told it will be a forever drug in my case).

PS: Oushk seem to be happy to prescribe as long as you're not in active treatment (i.e. on chemo or during radiotherapy). Their website sucks though!

@KentishMama that’s positive then!
I went from 13st 8 to 8st 5 and have now put back 2 stone.

im going to make an appointment with GP Monday but am I better going to GP or oncology do you think? Xxx

I'm not sure. I have a great oncologist, but never seem to see the same GP twice... Oushk didn't ask for a letter from either, by the way.

I’ve tried med express today and it’s still in the clinical review !

I used Med Express for a while, but they randomly cut me off when I reached a healthy weight, rather than support maintenance. That left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth.

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 12/04/2026 20:32

@KentishMamamed express have now asked me for an oncology letter!

Odd! Sounds like you might need to bite the bullet and get something from your doctor(s). But I'm sure they'll be supportive!

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 13/04/2026 14:10

GP and breast care team won’t provide me with a letter as they don’t get involved with private prescriptions!
