Feeling low and anxious after starting WLI

I’ve been on mountjaro for about 10 days and the last 4-5 days feeling extremely flat. On day 6, I was an anxious wreck feeling like something bad was going to happen (lose my job or something). I now feel like I’m just extremely flat and feel borderline depressed.

nothing bad is happening in my life but DH has taken the kids away for a few days so I’m feeling it more as I’m home alone

has anyone else had this? Does it lift or am I doomed to feel like this forever?

GLP-1s affect the reward pathways in the brain. This is great for not being tempted by food but can also impact mood, as you’re describing. I’m guessing you’re on the 2.5mg? It might be worth splitting f your dose and giving yourself 30 clicks twice a week. Or even missing a dose or two until you feel better. And then forward up slowly. Perhaps even 20 clicks rather than the full 60.

As @GLP1Girl said, GLPs can impact mood.

Id carry on and see how you get on over the next few weeks as it can subside, but I’d also try doing half a dose ( 30 clicks ) and see how you get on.

I was struggling with anxiety on jab day, after jabbing and this has helped me.

thats interesting, thanks

are some side effects temporary and some last forever?

Unfortunately some users report anhedonia as a side effect. It might wear off, it might not.

Keep going and see if it improves?

Were you using food/sugar/booze to get your dopamine hit? If so whay have you replaced it with ?

Oh good question. Yes probably to sugar. But I also walk a lot, work out 3 times a week at the gym (heavy weights) and do gardening. Ive been outside plenty this week and been to the gym and missing that usual dopamine hit

I had this but it went away after a few weeks. Not the anxiety, but the low mood. I was quite tearful and deflated. It lasted long enough for me to realise it wasn’t period related. I’d say carry on and monitor it. Hopefully it’s clear off like it did for me.

Yes it’s really important to find another way to get the ddopamine hit or it’s fairly bloody miserable as you’re basically just on a diet.

so be it buying youself something nice, seeing the numbers go down on tne scales, some nice moisturiser and a bubble bath, but you need to find something.

mine became vinted,😂
