How long after stopping BF can you start taking Mounjaro?

I am still BF my second child, but I am really struggling with my weight and appetite this time. I’m 5ft5 and have crept up to around 85kg. Ideally I’d like to lose around 20kg.
I expect I may wean my son at some point during the summer, so I was looking for advice on whether I can start Mounjaro as soon as I have weaned, or if I need to wait a period of time?
I’m keen to do something for myself now and start taking more care of myself, but I know this is not recommended while still BF. So happy to wait a while longer.
I’ve already done some questionnaires on provider websites, and it’s only me selecting that I am still BF that gives a not approved outcome, if I remove that I am accepted to start now. So I know I will be able to get it as soon as I am ready.

Why would you need to wait?

There’s no need to wait at all after you’ve stopped. It’s just that you can’t take Mounjaro if you are breastfeeding. As soon as you’ve definitely stopped then you are fine to start taking it.

Now I’m an advocate for MJ, seen some fantastic results and changes in attitude to food. But I don’t think I’d encourage a BF mother to use the, but I’ve not researched it either.

As far as I can tell you're only not allowed to take mounjaro when breastfeeding because you don't want it to go through to baby. But as soon as you finish that's not an issue, so you can start it straight away? I'm in the same boat but have just finished breastfeeding, I have about 3 stone to lose and have been wanting to start mounjaro for ages! I'm just scared I'll lose all my boobs after feeding and then hopefully losing a chunk of weight

As others said, you don’t take it when breastfeeding so there is no chance it is passed to your baby, you can start the second you stop.

You don't need to wait. It's not like waiting for it to leave your system entirely before TTC. You could inject immediately after your last feed.
