Is this GERD/reflux from the MJ or potentially more sinister?

Ok so I’ve been on MJ since Aug. No real issues with side effects apart from it triggering my gallbladder (on list for removal).
Still on 7.5 dose as advised by dr so that’s all under control.

For the last couple of months I’ve been feeling like there’s a lump in my throat. When I swallow sometimes etc and it’s gradually bothering me more and now I’m wondering if I should be panicking about thyroid cancers etc etc OR if it’s some sort of silent reflux?

I guess I’m looking for people to tell me they had these symptoms and it was reflux or heartburn and it fees just like having something in your throat? Never had it before so no experience of reflux etc?

Anyone?

Go to the GP.

I have this when I wasn't taking Mounjaro
I put it down to eating bread 🤷‍♀️ but yes if it is worrying you, only a dr will be able to help

Go to the GP.

Thank you for your useless comment of course I will go to the dr at the age of 44 I’m capable of that.
More I just wanted to see how common this is.
Some people can just be so bitchy.

What difference does it make how common it is? Would that change what you do about it?
The last person i know who had a lump in their throat had throat cancer. Be as snippy as you like just go to the gp.
Your age is irrelevant, not sure why you felt the need to share that?
You said this has been a couple of months so call me bitchy all you like just go get it checked out.

But you didn’t say that. You didn’t say ‘my friend had a lump in their throat and it was cancer so definitely go and get this checked’.
That would have been a super understandable and helpful post, yours was deliberately short and rude. Almost like you were trying to make me out to be some idiot?
Ive never had heartburn or reflux in my life so I was asking if this is what it felt like especially as MJ is known for causing it!

I had this before taking WLI and it’s definitely worse with the injections. I had it checked out pre-WLI and had a camera down my throat. Nothing found, told it was reflux and given a leaflet on how to manage it and to drink less wine.

Bread is also for me one of the worst culprits, can really hurt at times to swallow bread. I’m also having more indigestion particularly in bed at night. Rennies help with that.

Any issues with swallowing need to be checked out. I was beginning to panic like you before I went to the GP as it had been going on for a while and was very relieved it wasn’t serious. definitely feeling it more with the WLI though.

Thank you for this it’s really helpful! I will get checked but also this helps in the meantime just be calm!

Sounds like reflux to me but I would go to the local pharmacy and get some omeprazole first and if that’s doesn’t help see the gp
