Getting out of a plateau

I have been taking Monjaro since October. Am down 35lbs and have 11 more to go.

I have done this almost entirely on 2.5mgs, focusing on high protein, high fibre, practically no alcohol, and regular weight training.

When I did try going up a dose first one pen, (counted clicks and did 3.75 first) but I got violently sick a couple of times so have come back down. Was even sick the other day after eating a normal sized tuna salad.

I’d really like to lose the last bit of weight on 2.5, so will need to focus more - which I suppose is good preparation for maintaining- I’d like to come off entirely once I reach goal.

Is anyone else plateauing? Do you fancy checking in here each week and trying to break it together? I’d love some company and ideas to help deal with this.

🙏

Ima t goal now but whenever I had a period with no loss (3 weeks or more) this is what I did

Asked myself the questions

  • Am I drinking 2lts water a day
  • am I sleeping enough
  • am I due on my period
  • am I getting enough fibre and protein
  • am I in deficit (needs recalculating regularly as calorie allowance decreases as you get smaller)

usually one of those would be a no and I knew what to do.

If it helps this is what my weight loss looked like, as you can see it was not a straight downwards line, it zigged and zagged up and down, but the overall trend was downward which got me where I wanted to be in the end.

I weighed and tracked it daily while I was losing, now I step in the scales every now and then just to check in.

My line hasn’t been straight either. It’s just plateaud since the new year. Seems like it might be on the move again now though as have been experiencing some sickness unfortunately 🙄

Hi op, I'd like to join you! Although I haven't plateaued yet particularly, it is going extremely slowly now that I'm not far off goal. I've lost about 42 lbs, and I'd like to lose another 10. Like you, I've stayed on 2.5 mg throughout, and don't intend to go any higher. I'm only weighing myself every 2 weeks, as I think I'm only losing about half a pound a week, and it gives me a boost to see the scales having moved a little more, so infrequent weigh-ins help me not to lose motivation!
