Wegovy success stories

Hi all

There is much mention on this board of success stories with Montjaro and few with Wegovy so I just wanted to post about my own positive experience.

I started last September at 84kg and am now just under 70kg (about 17% loss). I’m post-menopausal and weight had been very resistant. My main motivation has been to support a serious health condition, rather than purely aesthetics. Wegovy hasn’t been effortless — I still eat well, watch portions, prioritise protein, move daily (cycling, yoga, walking) and accept plateaus — but it’s quietened food noise and made consistency possible. My goal is around 66kg, which would put me at a BMI of ~21, firmly in the healthy range. Side effects haven’t been zero, but overall it’s been steady and sustainable. Not a magic fix, but it can work with commitment.

Any one else here with similar success?

Yes. I could have written your post. Only on week 3 of minimum dose WG but so similar experience so far.

I've been on it for over a year, and it has worked a treat for me. I'm now doing the 1mg jabs every other week to maintain the loss.

I'm swapping to wegovy next month after three geRs on mounjaro as I can no longer afford it. So good to hear

MarshaMarshaMarsha · 01/03/2026 18:47

Yes, lost 4 stone in 12 months on wegovy. Moved to mounjaro and have maintained on that but not lost any more. I’m now moving back to wegovy to maintain on there instead as it’s cheaper!

I would recommend anyone new to WLI tries it first due to the lower cost.

I started in November and I’ve lost 2.5stone I can’t take more than 1mg as it makes me really poorly.

I've been on wegovy for about 10 months now....have gone from 14stone 5lbs to 10stone 8lbs. Would like to lose another half stone I think. Very few side effects...it's been amazing

Hi there. Tomorrow i will be taking my 8th dose of wegovy. Started on 7th jan this year. As of last weigh-in (25 Feb 2025), im down 9.1kg. I have lost about 11% of my initial body weight in just 7 weeks. Im feeling great, seeing it in my clothes, even starting to pick up some new smaller sizes, and others are starting to comment on how ive lost weight/look well.

Im excersing a lot - generally 2 × 7km runs, 3-4 x weights classes, and 1 pilates class per week.

Started on MJ last May and lost 4 stone, then swapped to Weygovey in September and have lost almost another 2.

I am on 1.7mg now after being on 1mg for 6 months. I lose on average ( according to my tracker) 1.8lb a week.

Gone from 19.13st to 15.1st.

Pinkchilli · 03/03/2026 11:48

Thanks for your post. On week 3 of wegovy have lost 4lbs with a start weight just over yours. I am mainly ok wk2 side affects were the worst. Feel like I was expecting more loss but maybe it’s unrealistic. Definately helping me minimise my snacking which was my big issue. Did you find it slow and steady? I’m on the feb board and find myself comparing to mj users I can’t afford that & worry about more severe side affects.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/06/2026 22:59

I started a year ago. Stuck between 0.75 and 1mg due to the cost. I’ve lost 3 stone. Really pleased.

Oh my god, you poor thing. Id be thinking about gentle food like porridge and yogurt, small portions of pasta, and soups.

I have been in wegovy for 6 months. The final 2 months. I haven't needed to go higher than 1.7mg.
I have lost 2 stone. 14 stone to 12 stone and I feel great. I don't feel too bothered about losing more to be honest.

It's been such an refreshing experience. To be honest I didn't try much and didn't change anything. I just naturally ate less snacks, binged less and if I wanted to eat toast and butter when I got home from work I was too full to eat most of my dinner 😅 Sometimes I ate a few bites and took the rest for lunch.

This experience is from someone who has always cooked from fresh and never really ate takeaways or ate out much anyway, so I'm hoping to maintain when I stop fingers crossed. For me it was the snacking and bingeing with the snacks that became a problem (and likely when i had a few years where i drank a lot at weekends)! Maybe I should consider continuing with a maintenance dose after my holiday in July, not sure?

bec81 · 10/07/2026 08:46

Im very similar. Ive been on wegovy since January and have found the whole experience very easy. Ive lost 17kg overall. Tge weightloss has stalled a lot lately but, while id like to lose a bit more, id also be very happy if I could maintain this weight. I dont deny myself anything, just tend to eat 2 meals a day with very few snacks.
