Do I have to pay for consultation before starting?

I'm considering starting WLI and I've been looking at monj.co.uk for pricing. I was considering Pharmacy2U but on the website it says to start a consultation from £64.99. Do I have to pay that in addition to the cost of the medication do you know?
I'm sure this is probably a stupid question, but I'm struggling to find out the answer. Thanks

No it’s not in addition to the medication. I can see how it seems that way though! It should be clear to you what you’re being charged for once you’ve filled out their online form. You’ll only put your payment details in once you’ve been through the online form and chosen a medication (Wegovy or Mounjaro), if they consider you suitable for WLI.

Thanks. And do pharmacies do a consultation every 4 weeks or can you just order another prescription? Thanks, it is so helpful to be able to ask these questions.

Each time you need another injection pen, you go onto their website and fill out the reorder consultation. Some pharmacies will pre-fill it with your previous answers. I can’t remember if Pharmacy2U do that as it’s been a while since I ordered from them. Most pharmacies email you to remind you to order if it’s been 2 or 3 weeks since your last order.

have a look at the pricing with local pharmacies to you - I swapped to a local pharmacy after starting with the on line providers and I find it excellent- I see the same pharmacist once a month, and he weighs, measures me- checks BP and then I buy my next pen. Just something to consider- good luck!

No, never. The consultation is part of the price and for most it’s just lots of online questions and uploading photos or other evidence as requested.

make sure to have a look at monj.co.uk to get a good understanding of the going rate as there is a huge variation in price and savings to be had by mining the effort to learn the system and move suppliers each month. Small amount of hassle for quite a bit of saving.

I used pharmacy2u once and they were as good as any with good price. Not selling additional “support” like some for a huge mark up. Also not a subscription model so a decent choice.

I order from Pharmacy2u, you have to go through the forms again, just to confirm nothing has changed, and to update your weight. Most of the answers are pre-filled from last time though, so just a case of clicking next. After 6 months they asked for a new set of photos. It’s coming up to 12 months now, and I’ll have to do a new set then.
