Looks like Wegovy 7.2mg has arrived (it doesn’t look cheap)

Not quite sure what the (3 x 2.4mg) means after it, perhaps just highlighting the dose increase to justify the price difference.

Not much between that and top dose of Mounjaro (at Oushk)

That's steep.

FourteenStoneInAday · 12/01/2026 11:54

Hopefully there will be cheaper providers soon.

bignewprinz · 12/01/2026 11:55

Anyone know what dose of MJ this aligns to?

SilenceInside · 12/01/2026 11:55

It says further in the blurb on the page that 7.2mg is done as three injections of 2.4mg at the same time.

https://www.oushkpharmacy.com/medications/wegovy-semaglutide-weight-loss-injection/

"The dose is delivered as 3 × 2.4 mg injections, injected 5 cm apart, at a single weekly session"

I guess that means that they don't have a specific 7.2mg pen as yet, but Oushk are willing to prescribe it as 3 x 2.4mg injections with a 2.4mg pen.

IsItSnowing · 12/01/2026 12:02

They've been given the go ahead to prescribe it but they have to do it as 3 pens so it's going to be expensive. Hopefully there will be a single pen soon which should bring the price down.

WeAllHaveWings · 12/01/2026 12:04

Eek don’t like the idea of 3 x injections @SilenceInside 😮

over 18 months of weekly injections and a 3 month period of every other day b12 and I still hate every one! 🤣

But works out cheaper if you wanted to stick to the regular dose and use over 3m!

The price of the medication is not related to the cost of manufacture, it is related to the value they think they are to the customer and what the customer is willing to pay.

The pens probably cost very little to make.

Think there will be a lot of 2.4mg Wegovy users suddenly needing an increase!

I agree. But as I understood their explanation, they are allowed to prescribe the higher dose but no allowance has been made to supply the pens as a 7.2mg package. So they are literally just selling you 3 pens in the same way as if you were taking 2.4mg and buying the individual pens.
Hopefully this will change.

SilenceInside · 12/01/2026 12:25

I am surprised it's so cheap compared to 3 x £199, as it seems obvious that people on 2.4mg who want to stay on 2.4mg would appreciate a bargain deal. Maybe they will insist on you re-ordering after 4 weeks, or some other method of stopping people just buying this deal every 3 months.

WeAllHaveWings · 12/01/2026 18:30

Oushk are having a live - they are saying

  • She tried to explain that the dose isn't really triple as it is not linear by using a GLP1 receptors are like the number of seats in a football stadium analogy which I don't think anyone understood 🤣
  • Only certain pharmacies are being allowed to do the 7.2mg prescribing by Novo Nordisk
  • Patients who do not reorder regularly will be kicked off 7.2mg 🙈
  • They have agreed some sort of feedback agreement with NN for patients on 7.2mg to ensure it is not being misused and allow them to supply 3 pens at this price
  • They think when the real 7.2mg comes in June/July it will be a bit cheaper, think she mentioned it might be around £240

That's interesting. Thanks for the update.

WeAllHaveWings · 12/01/2026 22:55

Looks like the igovy.co.uk site has been updated to include 7.2mg for a few pharmacies now.
