Hi all, happy new year!!

I was on MJ for a good seven months, lost all the weight I wanted to (and more) and felt so good although a few people told me I looked ill, which I didnt. Anyways, I came off it in September and gradually weight has crept back on. Not too much so far but I know if I don't watch it, it will be a slippery slope back again. I honestly thought I had the food noise/binging under control, told myself I've worked so hard I will never do it again......which is exactly what I did.

So, I've decided to go back on it and am waiting for my pen to arrive. My old supplier wouldnt supply me because it had been over 12 weeks since my last order and my BMI isn't high enough but luckily I found another supplier (voy) who were happy to take me on, after jumping through a few hoops.

So, I've decided I'm going to have to be on it for a good while now, lose the weight I've gained and then for maintenance. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm so bloody disappointed in myself but feel this time I am going into it in a more realistic way, completely aware of the pit falls of getting to my goal weight.

Yes me! I lost 16kg in 7 months, stopped in September due to the price increase and have since regained 5kg. The food and wine noise has returned with vengeance! My bmi is now 27 and I have high blood pressure and cholesterol so i was able to reorder. Ive just restarted mounjaro 2.5mg.
So disappointed with myself

Me too!
Came off because I'd hit my own goal of 30kg weight loss, was loosing hair which scared me and the price increase was going to cripple me
I last injected end of September and was doing well, I had managed to over haul my diet and hit my protein intake on the daily but then my parent died and work got very stressful and I'd often skip meals to binge on biscuits or I'd finish too late at work to eat anything proper and devour crisps and biscuits and general crap like that at 2am
I feel back in a better place mentally, I have a treadmill and excersize bike now so I have also reordered
I am very disappointed with myself, feels like I wasted that money. Just didn't expect life to hit my like a freight truck
But I already know I don't want to be making the same comments about my body and weight in January 2027 so I am more determined this time

@Dozycuntlatershi i went back on it but changed to wegovy as its cheaper but so far im at 0.5 and its no use im starving I go onto 1mg next week

MrsMiagi · 02/01/2026 18:30

Don't feel dissapointed. Most people will put some weight on after stopping; most will put it all back on over a few yrs. Obviously there are those who don't gain after stopping but they aren't the norm from what the research shows apparently. Once you stop a medication it doesn't work. Its something i am grappling with myself. I had hoped to be able to stop once I reached my goal but the price wasn't so bad before the hike. I can afford to continue but I'd rather not pay so much. However, my body isnt the same as my slim friends so I accept I may have no choice

Don’t feel like you’ve failed.

It’s obvious as with any weight loss method that if you stop doing it the weight will likely go on. After all, if we could rely on willpower we wouldn’t need the jabs in the first place.

Ive not taken it for four weeks as I wanted to eat more normally over Christmas and enjoy good food and I’ve put on half a stone. Going to take a 2.5mg dose tomorrow and I’m fully accepting of the fact il probably always be on it.

Hopefully the price will come down in the future but for me I’m happy to pay it if it means a I don’t need to have the angst I’ve had over my weight my whole adult life.

ItsStillWork · 02/01/2026 18:36

I came off it in June after 13 months on it. I did order a 2.5mg pen in Dec to shift the last 4 pounds to goal. I hadn’t gained in all that time since coming off it but I hadn’t lost any either.

ive just finished my pen and tbh, even though I’ve lost the weight I wanted, its very tempting to order another pen. It’s hard staying at maintenance calories (I religiously weigh and track everything) but it’s very expensive and I don’t want to become reliant on it but I love having no food noise.

ComemosZanahorias · 02/01/2026 18:43

Me too. Got to target weight after 3 pens (13 kg off) but have crept up by 5kg again since the start of October. Restarting MJ but at 2.5 rather than 5 - tbh 2.5 worked very well for me, so am hopeful this 5kg will leave again by the time we go skiing at half term. The cost is not really affordable but I need the jump start to actually develop some sensible food and exercise habits as I just didn’t last time - was essentially operating as though I had an eating disorder. So want to do it properly this time.

Dozycuntlaters · 03/01/2026 11:45

Thanks everyone. Bloody soul destroying isn’t it, all that hard work!
My pen is being delivered today, think I’m going to have my jab on Sunday nights. I’m with Voy so I did one of their coaching sessions yesterday and will try and engage with the tools they offer, especially for maintenance. I honestly thought I’d manage ok without it, and I never went about 5mg so I’m just going to have to knuckle down again, shift the weight I’ve put on then work like mad to keep it off.

good luck to us all!!

I did.. my surgeon advised me to before surgery.. l was off it a month and put six pounds back on..( I'd lost four stone in a year)..ive had to start again at 2.5 and it's doing nothing.. still got food noise and very hungry.. hopefully once l start going up .. it will be the same as last time and l will start loosing again.. im still 3 stone off my ideal weight.. once l get there l will take a maintenance dose.
You've got this.. you can do it.
Good luck .
