Should I go up or try a bit harder now it’s January

I was losing really well on 5mg, then got to BMI 24.9, which I’m so pleased with. I want to get to a BMI of 22/23 so I went up to 7.5mg which gave me horrendous side effects and took me ages to get over them. I moved back down to 5mg and tolerate it really well.
I have eaten more over the Christmas period, and in a month I’ve gained a pound.
I don’t know whether this means I’ve really stalled on 5mg, or because of Christmas. Wondering whether to try 7.5 again.
thing is 5mg doesn’t work the same as it did, as I clearly could overeat all Christmas.
but 7.5 is too strong.

I am sure many people are in the same boat as you, are you still feeling the same suppression over the the full week from the dose your taking?

xmas is an unusual period so perhaps getting back to your normal routine will enable the 5 to support your weight loss again , and then take it from there?

I “could overeat all Christmas” too and like many of us did.

When it is not Christmas and I am back into a routine I can still overeat, but my current dose still helps me not to and to make the right choices.

It really depends on your expectations from the medication.

I feel like I have a similar dilemma. I was titrating down, but I have eaten more over Christmas (everyone does!) but I didn't go wild. Nonetheless I have gained 1-1.5kg. I wasn't sure if I have reduced my dose too much so wanted to eat more, or if it was normal Xmas behaviour (I'd be happy with what I ate if I was in maintenance, but I still need to lose 4kg). Today was jab day and I compromised. I had been taking 6.25mg for the past few weeks, but just increased slightly to 6.75mg. For context, I always moved up the doses in small increments as small changes tended to have a good impact and I avoided side effects then.

I would not change dose for the sake of a pound, no. That’s so within the range of normal fluctuation, I would not even see it as a gain.

I ate slightly more over Christmas this year but immediately just got back to my healthy eating plan once we got past those few days.
