Jab day and weekly loss

I am curious what days people choose to jab and why, if you have changed did you have a reason for changing the days.

I am looking to change my day from saturday to thursday in jan mainly because i want to have the strongest suppression over the weekend. I am also looking for a 2-3lb weekly loss currently my first month its only been 1.5 but i havent restarted my excercise plan and didnt give up wine, which am doing in jan. This on paper looks possible but i am curious about other peoples experience.
FYI it will be my 2nd month in jan

I do my injection on a Friday, to have highest suppression over the weekend and in the early days, in case of side effects. That’s not been an issue now for several months.

I wouldn’t get to focussed on a specific amount lost each week. 1.5lbs is a great rate of loss. The benefit with Mounjaro/Wegovy is that you can do that consistently for long periods of time.

I generally have 3lb loss a week. I settled on Thursday jab days once I got up to 7.5mg. For my 2.5mg and 5mg pens I was jabbing every 5 days. 7.5mg oer week suits me though. I picked Thursdays because I wanted max suppression Friday to Sunday.

Thanks!

yes i dont think its bad weightloss without really doing anything but for me, if thats not really trying, then i can do better, so my aim is to stay on them for a specific amount of time so i want to maximise the time i have on them

Lots of people jab every 5 days, either permanently or for a short time. It's called microdosing. Some do it to avoid side effects, or as a transition between doses. I did it because I have a lot of weight to use so wanted to move up doses quickly until I found one that worked (which was 7.5mg for me).

I've also used 5-day jabbing as a way to manage avoiding overeating at Christmas. While I usually jab weekly on a Thursday (which would have been Christmas day), from the week before Christmas I jabbed Thurs - Tues - Sun - Friday (which was yesterday). Next week I'll be back to Thursdays and weekly jabs. But by having 3 jabs over the 2 weeks of Christmas (instead of 2 jabs) it's helped me in the short term to avoid the sweet treats in the house. Overall , I've lost 1lb from 20th Dec to now. Not as much as I usually lose, but at least I didn't gain.

Suppression (eating less) and eating healthily when I do eat still requires determination and conscious decision making from me. I sometimes think 'I could finish those chocolates' or 'that meal was delicious, I want a second bowl' and have to have the willpower not to. The WLI support that willpower and make it easier, but the thoughts are sometimes still there.

I jab Sunday evening.
i like the option of being flexible at wkend although generally I do stick to eating healthy

maddiemookins16mum · 04/01/2026 20:16

I do a Friday evening.

PurpleCoo · 04/01/2026 22:28

I jab on Friday lunchtimes. I chose Friday because when I first started I didn't want side effects at work. Turns out I didn't get any side effects, but stuck with the same day.

3lbs a week is above the recommended rate of loss. The advice is 1-2lb a week. To lose faster you risk all sort of health complications, increased risk of loose skin and hair falling out.

I would be delighted to lose 1lb a week! My rate of loss has been much slower these past three months and the last half stone is coming off painfully slowly. I don't mind though, I still have decent hair, no side effects and not much in the way of loose skin

BG2015 · 05/01/2026 09:03

I do a Thursday afternoon as I don't work Fridays or Mondays any side effects are over the weekend and lowest suppression is over the weekend.

RedPony1 · 05/01/2026 15:10

i want my highest suppression to be Mon-Fri when i'm sat down in my office job, so i jab Sunday eve. I'm far too busy on a weekend to have time to over eat so the lower suppression is ok
