Any Christmas weight gains?

This was my first Christmas on MJ and I wanted to give myself a bit of slack to enjoy the festivities but at the same time, not make a huge dent in my weight loss so far. I normally gain 5-7lbs over Christmas week and then spend most of January trying to shift it.

This Christmas I still jabbed but gave myself ‘permission’ to not track calories but my rule was that I’d eat if I was hungry and would stop eating mindlessly just for the sake of it. I’ve had a totally lovely time and had a little bit of everything including roasties, quality street and dips/snacks (all my favourite stuff). Jumped on the scales tonight and have gained 0.8lbs (since Dec 23) and to me that feels like a good result as I can shift that pretty quickly.

Anyone else had any maintains, gains or losses over Christmas week?

I put on 2lbs but not injected since the 14th December

CocksBolingey · 29/12/2025 20:28

I lost 4lbs. Jabbed as normal last Monday and again today. Haven’t felt like I’ve missed out - still had a bit of what I’ve fancied, but haven’t fancied a lot of it! 😊

Foottapper1 · 29/12/2025 20:35

Nope lost a pound, eaten some extra things just not hoovered everything in sight. Not going to jeopardise 9 months of hard work.

Comedycook · 29/12/2025 20:37

Stayed the same...I'm happy with that. I was dreading weighing myself as I really do feel like I ate a lot

Incognitoburrito88 · 29/12/2025 20:40

I’ve ’gained’ 5 lbs! Not too worried though - I am in maintenance and was actually below the lower end of my goal range. I am only injecting 2.5 every 2 wks. I was actually quite thoughtful about what I ate but enjoyed a lot of home baking - I love Xmas cake! I suspect a lot of my gain is water and food - have got back to my normal routine now and hoping it melts away pretty quickly.

ShawnaMacallister · 29/12/2025 20:46

Stayed the same :) I did have a fair few mince pies over the festive week but ate no more than maintenance. My extended family tend to have two big meals a day when we get together including over Christmas so that suited me well. I had appetite to eat delicious meals with enough time between to get hungry and not overeat.

RessicaJabbit · 29/12/2025 21:08

Stayed the same here over 2 weeks, no injection since around 10 December. I wanted to enjoy Christmas dinner and what not..when dosed up I don't fancy anything and then can eat maybe half a sandwich or something
. didn't want to feel that way for Christmas dinner, especially as someone else was cooking..

had a dose on Saturday.

I gained 2lbs. From 9st 1lbs to 9st 3lbs. Last Christmas I was on a higher dose and still very much losing, this year I’m on maintenance, jabbed as normal, ate a bit more than usual (and very much enjoyed it!) but know it will come off in a week or two. It’s been very liberating.

Jenasaurus · 30/12/2025 00:22

I gained 3 pounds but I got to BMI of 22 from 34 so even with the 3 pound gain I am still a healthy weight, I am trying to work out how to maintain and keep my diabetes at bay :) I haven't injected since 18th December so 12 days ago, will take it on 1st Jan to hopefully get back on track and maintain rather than gain

Popcornandbeetroot · 30/12/2025 13:19

I managed to loose a 1lb, think I probably sweated that off in the kitchen wrestling a giant turkey, also went for several walks as the weather has been so nice and have been trying to escape the kitchen/snacks and having any further dealings with the giant turkey. Back to work today and I’m glad to be back in my normal routine 😅

ZenLikeAlways · 30/12/2025 16:13

I put on 4lbs but have dropped 2

lissie123 · 30/12/2025 16:26

I stayed the same but I’ve been maintaining for the last month so I’ll take it as a positive

TwinklyRoseTurtle · 30/12/2025 16:52

7lbs 🤮😱

DBatteryBand · 30/12/2025 17:27

I weighed myself on Saturday and had stayed the same. I am starting to feel a bit anxious about gaining weight this week - I have definitely had too much wine lately, and been chomping my way through too many bowls of peanuts. However, I haven’t had any mince pies, Christmas cake, desserts, glasses of Bailey’s, crackers smothered in cheese and butter, crisps or any of that stuff. I have bought loads of new clothes online in the sales and am now agitated that they won’t fit by the time they are delivered!

Pieceofpurplesky · 30/12/2025 17:30

I've put on about 3lbs. Mainly as I've enjoyed a few drinks, not food.

TheChosenTwo · 30/12/2025 17:32

Was up 1lb on my weigh day but since I’m no longer aiming to lose weight for the last 2 months my weight has basically gone up and down the same 1lb for about 8 weeks.
So when I next weigh on Saturday, in theory I’ll be back down the same 1lb again. However I’m on holiday at the moment, jabbed as normal but had lunch and a pudding today because I fancied it and will probably have a couple of glasses of wine most evenings if I want them. We are doing lots of long walks during the day but I’m out of routine with my regular exercise schedule and I’m eating more carbs than I do at home.
All fine though, I can’t eat loads so I’m just eating what I want this week rather than worrying too much about the nutrition side of things. My BMI is currently 20.5 so fine on that front.

Kazzaa46 · 31/12/2025 06:20

I gained half a pound. I jabbed weekly as normal and did allow myself extra food over Christmas. I didn’t drink much alcohol though as I didn’t fancy it.

Pre MJ, I’d always gain at least 5lb over Christmas.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 31/12/2025 07:49

Weighed this morning, down about 3lbs since 24th but we have been out walking most days in the good weather.

Have had a few drinks, mini mince pies but otherwise very much on plan with jabs and we were eating out at pubs a fair bit but then had very light meal in the evening - shared a small pizza or cheese n biscuits etc…

1clavdivs · 31/12/2025 08:13

I’ve gained 3lbs. Christmas as coincided with my titration down as I’m in maintenance now. I intend to lose it in January.

Nellodee · 31/12/2025 08:35

I’m trying to maintain at 9st7, currently on a 6mg dose, slowly working my way down from 7.5mg. I usually fluctuate +- 1lb, but had unintentionally dropped to 9st5 just before Xmas. I’m currently 9st9 (but was briefly 9st11 over the Xmas period).

So, if I was being pessimistic I could say I put on 6lbs, or if I was being optimistic, I could say I’ve gained 1lb, depending on which dates I measure between. I’m sure I’ll be back to wobbling around 9st7 in a week or so.
