Has anyone been at 15mg, stopped for a few weeks, then restarted at a 2.5mg dose?
It has gotten so expensive and I’m wondering if I had a pause and went back down to the lower doses would I have the same levels of suppression at a lower price.
many advice welcome

I think it’s definitely sensible to start at the lower dose after a break. If the cost is concerning you then I think you should probably speak to your GP and try and find a way to proceed with your weight loss in an affordable way.

Weight loss injections seem to be changing people’s appearance but not so much their attitude towards health and reaching and maintaining a “healthy weight”. The jabs tend to mask the underlying problems but not actually resolve them.

The reason i say this - I was prescribed a low dose of Ozempic to try and manage my type 2 Diabetes but it has made me feel awful so I’ve stopped taking it. The 6kg I lost was probably mostly muscle because I felt too shit to go to the gym and it’ll most likely be back on by the new year.

The price has got ridiculous hasn’t it?!

Most evidence seems to show that,
once you’ve been on a higher dose, the lower ones won’t really be effective if you restart. Your body seems to need you to build back up to higher doses before feeling the effects. As such, the lower dose pens would be a waste of money.

I doubt it would be as effective if you are used to the highest dose. I went to 12.5mg and now resucing doses. Have done 6 weeks at 10mg and 5 weeks so far on 7.5. My hunger has definitely increased so having to count calories to keep me on track. Im hoping to reduce to 2.5mg eventually because of the cost

I’ve just stopped after 5.5 months and 14kg off. The cost but also I was feeling very nauseous and mentally the cons were outweighing the pros. What started as a genuinely amazing break from food noise turned into total flatness. I couldnt be arsed to do anything - cook, clean, socialise. It happened so slowly that I didn’t really realise, but a week off and I feel like someone has turned the lights on and I hadn’t realised it had gone dark.

So it was brilliant to get me here, but I need to find a way of managing without it - financial and mental costs are too high for me.

Have you considered wegovy? I switched 3 weeks ago and its working wonderfully. Switched from 10mg to 1.7mg, suppression is super strong now at week 3, it was already strong at weeks 1 and 2. I've lost 2lbs and I'm 9st 1.9lbs now bmi 22.9 so it's doing great for that. I have the suppression without the nausea and low energy that mj caused. My excess hair loss of 11.5months has now finally stopped too, it lessened when I started wegovy and now fully stopped. I wish I'd switched earlier.
My friend was maintaining on 15 switched to 1.7mg and said it was ok and then went up to 2.4mg and said its strong suppression. She hasn't lost but is in maintenance and building muscle weight training so hasn't tried to lose weight.

i was on MJ 7 months stopped semi cold turkey in October (7 weeks on 12.5 then 1 week 14mg followed by 7mg after 9 days and 3 mg after that) due to personal non finaciall/health related issues 2 st from goal 4.5 st down (I’m now 3 st from goal, 3.5 st down) 7 mg and 2 weeks after 3mg was brutal , now 2 months after last dose I’m almost 1 stone up (a lot of water weight as I’m very puffy)

started another thread for similar and it seems some say it starts working straight away, some at 5 and some at higher doses but the feedback is that it does work

personally I’m restating next week , and will share my experience
