Switching from 15mg Mounjaro to Wegovy

I've read a couple of older threads about people who switched due to the price hike, generally it seems that the experience with Wegovy was negative and people regretted switching, but I just wanted to see if could get other people's experiences.

I'm on 15mg, by no means anywhere near where I want to be for my weight. We could probably stretch to the mounjaro prices but only by swapping providers all the time to get the absolute cheapest price, but it's such a lot of money and things would be really tight.

I'm just worried that Wegovy won't work and I'll put all the weight back on. It's been a long hard slog even with the help of mounjaro, so I really don't want to go back to how I was. Would appreciate other people's experiences about whether switching worked or if I should stick with mounjaro!

I went from 15mg MJ to 1.7, then 2.4 Weg. I gained 6lb in those 2 months and felt no impact of the Weg at all. I have just started back on MJ 5 mg and have immediate suppression and change to my appetite to the sort of food I want to eat.

I regret not staying on MJ.

There are a couple of threads about people who have done the swap. A few have said it has worked but most have had a negative experience.

I stopped Maunjaro in August, I was also on the highest dose and lost 5 stone. I just couldn’t afford the price hike which worried me to bits. I waited 6 weeks for my body to settle and then started on the lowest dose of wegovy. My thinking was to start afresh now Maunjaro was out of my system. I was ravenous and on a stone quite quickly. Wegovy is notably less powerful than how I remember Maunjaro however now my doses are increasing I am feeling the suppression. I think the issue is jumping from the highest dose of Maunjaro to wegovy as they do not really compare. I am definitely eating more than I did on Maunjaro but I’ll just see how I go when the dose increases.

Ive swap over also i was off MJ for 2 months I hadn't put on wait but the thought of going backwards scared so started on wegovy at a great price at 0.5 its obviously not as good as mj but its doing the job im happy

I've moved from 10mg to 1.7mg, it's now 2 full weeks and still got really strong suppression, better than MJ, more emergy, better mood.
My friend has moved from 15 to 1.7, which gave her some suppression, she wasn't getting less on 15mg, then she moved to 2.4 and she said it's really strong suppression. I've lost 0.5lbs so far on my first week of wegovy but I am 58.7kg so it's slower to lose anything for me now. If you do move over, make sure to go on one of the higher doses maybe minimum 1.7mg.
Wegovy doesnt target the GIP receptors which mainly reduces blood sugar, so may work better on those who have better insulin sensitivity or at maintenance. I was prediabetic and when I got to bmi 25, the doses were all too strong, I had just moved upto 15mg then. I quickly moved down the doses and found 7.5mg was good for maintenance and 10mg to lose weight. At this stage my insulin resistance and prediabetes had been resolved so I believe I no longer needed to GIP.

Hi i was Sdue to go up to 7.5mg on MJ moved over to 0.5 wegovy im due my 2nd jag tomorrow I dont want to loose much more maybe half a stone

Im about to do this as i switched from wegovy to MJ (on medical advice) in Jan 25 and have had terrible weightloss on MJ ( zero for 9months and still at least 1.5 stone overweight) i was losing consistently on wegovy...

I came on mumsnet this morning for this exact topic. I switched after I finished my last 7.5mg I’m on 1mg wegovy and I’ve gone from 11st12lb to 12st8lb 😭 I just don’t feel supression atm. I’m not sure if to go up once more and see if that helps as I didn’t get supression really late up the Mj titration

I switched and it wasn't a positive experience but I knew quite early on it wasn't and only did 2 months wegovy. Massive downside is I've had to go back onto 5mg MJ so this is also not currently working and I have to build back up. So taking a lot of time and expense now. Honestly wouldn't bother
