I take my last Mounjaro dose tomorrow.
I started in February and have lost 4 stones 3 lbs to get down to a healthy weight. I used my last 10mg pen to titrate gradually down to 2.5 over the last 10 weeks, driven mostly by it becoming unaffordable with the price increases.
Surprisingly, I haven't felt any lessening of suppression or food noise as I went down the doses so it did occur to me to maybe stay on 2.5 forever, working back up to higher pens to split into 2.5 doses keep the price down to a more affordable level.
But... I'm fed up with the Anhedonia... Not severe enough to count as a full blown depression but it's never lifted despite eating really well and cutting UHPF right out..
In the past when I've improved my diet, increased energy and enthusiasm have been very noticeable but I've remained pretty flat all the way through this Mounjaro journey. I've seen it as a temporary price worth paying though, to get to a healthy weight.
Now I'm scared that I'm stuck like this, even when the drug gets out my system. So my question is this:
Was Anhedonia...loss of energy, motivation and the ability to feel joy, one of your side effects and did it resolve itself when you came off the drug?
