People on higher doses please come talk to me about what made you move up each time?

Currently on my second 7.5 pen. Did 1 x 2.5 and 1 x 5.
I moved up simply because the suppression wasn’t amazing on the lower doses (not a super responder).
So 7.5 is currently fine, never had any side effects on any pens apart from constipation (not uncommon for me anyway) and cold and fatigue.
Ive got two 10 pens in the fridge waiting for me and my 7.5 runs out mid December. Trying to estimate if by that point I should move up a dose or stick and buy a third 7.5 pen. I don’t want to be in a position where I stay on the same dose and it stops working for a month. My original plan was two months on each of the higher pens especially as I’ve heard 7.5 is a bit hit and miss for people?
What was your experience?

I was on 7.5mg for a long time, 34 weeks. I moved up to 10mg because I felt like it was beginning not to have much effect, and the weight loss had slowed down. I moved to 10mg, and have been on that for 27 weeks now. I am happy at this dose level for now. It's working consistently each week and my weight loss is ticking along. It's less now, but that's because I am close to my goal weight and I have less to lose.

Wow that’s a long time on 7.5, it’s fantastic that it kept on working for you for so long! Maybe there is hope for me yet then!!
I wouldn’t call my weight loss fast, last week only lost 0.5lb but was my TOTM so that could be it.
Thanks for sharing your experience!

Exactly why I moved to 10mg

Same for me, I read all the manufacturers information, rather than go by some of the nonsense on social media, where folks seem to want to try to find a better way to do it than the scientists recommend.

so basically it’s move up till you find your optimum dose, now that could be 5 it could be 15. And the optimum dose is the one below the one which you can’t tolerate. But you know when you get there,

when I got to ten, it was smooth, 24/7, no side effects, just everything worked as it should, and I stayed on that for many months.

I then moved to maintence when I hit goal and slowly titrated down to 5, the lowest therapeutic dose, and I want to stay on long term, I’ve been on five for about 6 or 7 months now, my weight is very stable and I reverse dieted, so slowly increased my cals as I reduced the meds, meaning they offset each other and I feel no different on the 5 to the 10 when I was dieting.

Sorry I just reread, not really same for me, I did one month of 2.5. One of 7.5 then moved to 10 and stayed there,

LaGioiosanotLeviosa · 20/11/2025 14:11

What difference did you notice going from 7.5 to 10? Was it just slightly more effortless or was there a big difference in suppression?
I ask because 18th dec is my next start of new pen so obviously don’t want to be too suppressed or ill over Christmas but at the same time I’m not looking to ease up on my journey just because of mince pies being on offer! 😂

For me, I had no side effects or issues going to 10mg, just a return to increased suppression and lack of food "noise".

Wickedlittledancer · 20/11/2025 15:11

It’s hard to explain, but it is my optimal dose, I get hungry for meals, eat a small portion, am satisfied, don’t snack and it doesn’t wear off to the end of the week, it’s 24/7.
