Mounjaro to Weygovy success story

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my story as I’ve read a lot of unsuccessful transitions from MJ to Weygovy. I had to swap because my 5mg pen jumped to £200 and I just couldn’t afford it. I’d had slow but steady success with MJ loosing a stone over 3 months which bearing in mind I’d struggled to loose any of my menopause weight in five years I am happy with my loss. I was dreading moving to Weygovy because I’d heard it wasn’t as strong and the side effects were worse, I had relatively no side effects on MJ so I was dreading the switch. My provider moved me straight onto 1.7mg which I believe is equivalent to 7.5 on MJ. My appetite suppression has remained strong, I have had marginally more nausea but nothing that lasts more than a day. I haven’t experienced the extreme tiredness with Weygovy that I had when I started MJ and I’m continuing to loose. I feel i am particularly good responder to GLP-1 which helps but also moving to a higher dose immediately has kept the food noise at bay and the appetite suppression strong. I’ve heard people say that it’s not advised to move into such a high dose and that you should gradually increase the dose of Weygovy from 0.25 or 0.5 but my chemist reassured me I could tolerate it and I have with only mild nausea which I had whilst using MJ. Anyway just wanted to share my story and give anyone about to transition a bit of hope.

Thanks for your message. Great help to me as I am just about to change to Weygovy as maujarno just getting too expensive. I have lost 1st 4 lbs in 12 weeks with no side effects at all. New Provider did tell me I had to start on 0.25 though. I was on 7.5 mg maujarno. Will see how it goes.

There are many providers which let you switch to a higher dose, oushk is one of them, there are others. I'm moving from 10 to 1.7mg, no way would I start so low and struggle with the hunger.

I’m with Chequp and they moved me from MJ 5mg to WG 1.7 mg with zero loss in appetite suppression.

Omg thank you for this it could be me! I am about to move in 3 weeks from MJ to Wegovy due to cost and like you have only lost just over a stone in 3 months, nearly 4st meno weight to shift. I too have been getting really anxious about the transition so very much appreciate your post 🥰

I just felt compelled to write something positive because when I researched the transition from MJ to WG it was mostly all negative and it’s not the result I have experienced. I feel the move to a similar dosage is key.

Yes I believe the Wegovy dose I start on is equivalent to 7.5 MJ

Hopefully then you will have the same reaction as me. I was dreading getting awful symptoms as I had had none with MJ apart from maybe a day of mild nausea at the beginning but I’m relieved that again I’ve only had mild nausea and nothing else. Loss of appetite suppression was a real worry for me as I’ve lost so slowly, if anything my suppression has been stronger on Weygovy.

I had a lot of side effects on MJ which lead me to stop. Gave Wegovy a go and not experienced a single side effect. Find suppression better on Wegovy also. I’m doing fine on low dose whilst with MJ I had to increase quickly because the suppression wasn’t there on low doses. I regret I didn’t start on W. The clinic I went to suggested MJ. Not sure if they still do after the increase as I don’t use them anymore.
