Swapping from Wegovy to Mounjaro

I’m sorry if this has been asked before, but I’m considering switching from Wegovy to Mounjaro.

I’m currently on 1.7mg of Wegovy and my prescriber, Chequp has suggested I switch to 12.5mg of Mounjaro. My side effects on wegovy are very mild (belching). I’ll have been on 1.7mg for a month when I switch.

Is it normal to start on such a high dose when switching because I’ve read elsewhere the recommended dose when switching from 1.7mg of wegovy is either 5mg or 7.5mg of Mounjaro.

If you search wegovy to mounjaro conversion chart then you can see the classic exchange amounts. 1.7 is one of the highest Wegovy dosages so it makes sense you’d have to start high on the Mounjaro dosage… 5mg probably wouldn’t do anything for you as that’s the first clinical dose and is equivalent to 0.5 Wegovy.

I wouldn't start that high. Wegovy 1.7mg is the second highest dose, 7.2mg is coming out soon, but it is a lot weaker than mounjaro. Searches on here and reddit will let you know. If you've never been on mounjaro before, then it is strong and end up with side effects starting that high. I wouldn't start higher than 7.5mg, even 5mg is a better choice as it also has GIP in not just GLP.
I'm moving from 7.5mg MJ to 1.7mg W next week, but I have read many reviews saying W is weaker.
Why don't you contact a few prescribers and ask what they suggest.

After a search most providers say a washout period of 5 weeks from wegovy before starting on mounjaro on 2.5mg. There is only one suggesting starting at 5mg from 1.7mg.
I've been all the way upto 15mg, which turned me into a zombie, i could only eat 750-900 cals a day and was very ill, most people can't even tolerate above 10mg so I definitely wouldn't recommend starting high. I'm now back down to 7.5mg.
