Hair loss prevention

Hey,

I started the WeGovy injections recently. Been coming across posts online recently about the jabs causing hair loss. I’m very susceptible to hair loss so I want to try prevent that before it becomes something I need to treat.

Has anyone experienced hair loss from the jabs, if so, how did you treat it and get growth back?

Does anyone have any tips on preventing hair loss? The only thing I’ve used is the scalp massager brush when I wash my hair, which apparently promotes growth. But I really want to be prepared because I’d be devastated to have another bout of thinning hair, as my hair is so fine as it is. (previously had thinning hair due to pregnancy and also stress).

Thanks

@Daisywhatsyouranswer when you’re proved ultimately to be wrong, will you admit that?

Of course, and I’m hoping that those who are wrong now, will post immediate admittance that no such direct link exists today.

I have lost a lot of hair. No bald patches or anything but it is very thin. I have lost 4.5 stone over 15 months so not really fast at all.

Whatever the cause, it is better to have thin hair than thick hair and be nearly 5stone heavier.

Can you post the link please?

University of Manchester are one year into the five year study on it.

@notnorman do you mean the SURMOUNT-REAL UK 5 year trial?

@notnorman do you mean the SURMOUNT-REAL UK 5 year trial?

Yes. Part of it is health related quality of life. I believe the hair loss comes under that heading.

I’m still on 6.25mg but am seeing a lot of regrowth now that I’m in maintenance and not losing weight anymore. Or rather, I’ve only lost a kilo a month for the last 4 months. So for me it was definitely the rapid weight loss.

alittlechildish · 15/12/2025 07:05

There is a link between any rapid weight loss and hair loss. Mine has slowed down considerably since I started glowwa supplements and the L’Oréal growth booster serum.

Sorry I should add that I suspect mine is related to my thyroid though, not MH!

Agree that it's more about rapid weight loss than the jabs themselves so I would keep an eye on that and aim to lose more steadily. That will also reduce the risk of gall bladder issues and also people commenting.
