November price rises for MJ from some Pharmacies

I’ve noticed that Simple Online Pharmacy have increased their prices as of this week but hear that other suppliers are doing the same from November for Mounjaro only.

According to Simple Online Pharmacy’s page they have one price for new patients (£20 more) and a price for retuning patients but unfortunately their site isn’t working like that and you need to get a code from them I believe, which is really inconvenient when you need to order and they’ve not supplied it. Supposedly they’ve informed patients, I’ve not yet received anything from them and I’ve been a customer since December.

However they are not the only one doing this, they are also quite a large supplier of weight loss injections so this sudden increase in costs seems more like greed than need.

What I’ve also noticed in the past few months is the constant bombardment of pushing Wegovy as well as incorrectly telling customers they can’t order or that they can only order certain doses as their on ‘maintenance’ yet haven’t actually reached that stage in their journey. I’ve experienced both since August.

I’m actually wondering if they’ve either got too much stock of Wegovy thinking people would easily move and/or they get a better rebate from selling Wegovy hence the push and now increase in MJ prices without any warning.

So anyone else’s pharmacy just raising prices out of the blue?

With the speed the price hike was brought in I would expect there will be some fine tuning of prices from all the pharmacies as they get to grips with what the changes mean, especially since orders will be very low due to patients stocking up prior to the increase, some moving to Wegovy, movement between pharmacies for lower prices, and also some stopping/trying to continue without it as they are now unaffordable. Add on top of that pharmacies changing processes to meet GPhC guidelines which might mean bigger overheads.

Oushk whose prices were/are higher than many, reduced two of their higher doses a couple of weeks ago, only by £5, but shows there is still tweaking going on.

I wouldn't be surprised if prices keep changing well into next year before they stablise again (assuming nothing else comes along!)

I used to use SOP before August as their prices were competitive and they used to price match. Since then, they have stopped the price match and their prices have become far less competitive so I simply changed supplier.
It's strange that they would raise their prices, as they must have lost business with their new pricing.

Use https://monj.co.uk/discount-mounjaro-price-list/ to find the cheapest price and switch provider... Simple isn't the cheapest on that site

Or check https://click.compare/mounjaro/

I already moved to medicine marketplace. Provided them with all the information they needed immediately and had my pen dispatched the same afternoon and delivered the next day.

However I’m now at a BMI where a lot of pharmacies won’t take me on. I’m under 25 and for some even though you can prove you are currently on a dose and have been for some time, their internal prescribing guidelines prevent them from allowing you to switch to them. Annoyingly many can’t tell you what their guidelines are so you order, get rejected and then have to wait on your refund.

Have you searched this forum for posts on.maintenance pharmacies... I've seen quite a few mentioned where they've said the bmi each pharmacy was willing to accept
