Not enough strength in thumb to do the MJ injection

Second week that this has happened (same pen) but have struggled with other pens.

Basically I have nothing wrong with the joints of my hand. I just cannot get to the full dose without needle bending or medication leaking as have to press down on the pen button so hard to get the full dose. I use my thumb to press down on the pen button as stronger than fingers.

Anyone else had this?

I am on 5 mg so was wondering if I should do 2 injections of 30 clicks as cannot press the pen down to get 60 clicks. Assuming 5 mg from 5 mg pen is 60 clicks...

It really shouldn't be that difficult to press. I use mine directly from the fridge too.

It sounds like the needle didn't go on properly, perhaps it was slightly angled as you put it on so the inner part of the needle bent. Try a new needle, guide it on carefully so that it is straight, and make sure you prime every time.

But where is it bending? Whereabouts along the needle? To bend the needle you would have to apply a lateral force surely? I can't work out how it's bending the needle or squirting out the sides unless the needle is blocked

I've never had to apply any force to the MJ syringe.

Are you definitely injecting into fat? Have you had this issue with previous pens or is this one defective?

Sorry cannot remember where needles bent. Been on MJ for months. Only happened with 2 injections from this pen so 2 injections left..

Definitely injected in fat both times

Needle on properly and prime each time. Problem only with this pen.

I use 2 hands one thumb onto of the other.

Thanks does that cause problems with the amount of pressure on button?

Not at all.

I would just use insulin needles. I always look forward to my bonus dose as I find it so much easier with the I insulin needle compared to pushing the pen down.
