How to take 5 mg from a 7.5 mg pen

Decided to remain on the 5 dose but not sure how it works, especially the second dose. Is it 40 clicks for the first dose. But what happens when you take the second dose. Do you have one 20 clicks for injection and then prime again and take a 20 click dose. Do you use the same needle? Thanks

A full dose is always 60 clicks. So 5mg from a 7.5mg pen is 2/3 of a dose so 40 clicks.

the pen doesn’t divide it into 60. There are a total of 4x60 clicks plus probably up to 20 extra for priming. So around 250-260 clicks before the pen locks. How you divide those up works regardless. So you can do 6 x 40 click doses. If that’s your plan I recommend counting the first dose of 40 slowly and carefully then marking in the window with a pen for the next 5. You can then get the remaining liquid out as 1 x 0.4ml and if you are careful with priming even an 8th dose of 0.4ml. So you will def get 7 doses possibly 8 of 5mg/40clicks/0.4ml from a 7.5mg pen.

So to answer your question - no, just do 40 clicks week 1 with one needle. Do exactly the same the next week, 40 clicks with one new needle and repeat each week until you’ve had 6 doses. Then if you are happy to swap to syringes/go further past the 30 days, get dose 7 and maybe 8.
