I have been using Mounjaro and my last pen arrived end of July which took me to the end of August but sadly my situation changed and at that time had to prioritise other costs. I'm back on an even keel and despite getting emails from my old supplier offering a discount for a re-order - they won't supply it to me now because I'm under their guidelines weight - i'm 11st 11lb - I wanted to get down to 10 stone and had I kept with my order then they'd have had no issue with me having it at 11st 11lb - but because there has been a 3mth gap (but only 2 mths since last pen) they won't issue it to me anymore! This doesnt make sense.
I don't even think I can get it from another supplier as my current weight is under their threshold but its nowhere near the goal I wanted.
Has anyone else had the same?

Many maintenance suppliers will supply you with that gap. Are you with one of the awful ones like med express?

I'm with Simple Online pharmacy.

Do you think anyone would? Because obviously when I send it my weight then I dont think they will class it as "obese" as obviously its not .

Have you checked the list on Monj? For maintenance or for restarting, perhaps.

https://monj.co.uk/mounjaro-maintenance-pharmacies/

Oh no I didn't notice that! Thanks so much, will have a look.
I've thrown the box away with my last dose on but have still got my emails etc to prove past prescriptions.

I think Swift will as long as not over a years gap. You will need to start on 2.5mg again as gap over 8 weeks but that might be ok.

Email them explain on it from x date to y date (will prob need to supply evidence) you took a gap and now want to start again.

I’m using Swift as they will let you take gaps (even at maintenance weight). I’ll have to order at least one pen a year.

Medexpress prescribed to me with a four month gap, my BMI was 23, they actually didn't even request evidence of my last prescription, just a photo.

Well that’s a bit ridiculous of them, very poor. If you go to one of the maintenance and take snagits of your on line orders, you should be fine,

MamaorBruh · 19/10/2025 21:32

It would just be so much easier to have been able to have re-ordered it from them given they have all my information etc already.
It's not like I had a 12 month gap!

To be honest it’s a five min job reentering the data, most pharmacies make you reconfirm it all anyway each order.

It's more the having to take new photos with dated paper, on the scales etc and ID.
Just seems unnecessary and obviously I'm concerned the other places won't accept me if my BMI isn't over 30 (it was when I started!)
Have tried to order through Cured - with that link above.

You’ll be able to get a pen based on what you’ve shared here, but it’s absolutely necessary and correct that the pharmacies will want evidence to ensure they are prescribing responsibly.

Taking some new photos, explaining your gap and providing evidence of past prescriptions is not an unfair ask and really doesn’t take much time. If you were starting at your current weight with no history of taking the jabs you would not be eligible.

It is a little bit more awkward, with possible liability, and time consuming at their end to prescribe to you that’s why some pharmacies can’t be bothered with the hassle of evidencing why it meets the rules. The ones that do, deserve respect that they will take the time to.

MedExpress and now apparently Simple Online take the easier path of just refusing those who become tricker to prescribe to and moving onto the next person who ticks the correct boxes.

edited to add - I’ve changed pharmacies 5 times since being under bmi 30. With evidence you started above it that’s a non-issue.

I’d email or call few places first to ask before filling in forms. Try Pharmulous, wePrescibe and Swift Dr as they are all run by sensible humans!

I had the same issue last week with simple online pharmacy! I had to come off for 3 months and they wouldn't let me back on this week due to gap. I messaged pharmacyonline explaining everything and all I had to do was send them proof I received Mj off another supplier and they issued me it!

Definitely ask around as they all have different rules. I was really shocked I couldn't get it as simple online pharmacy were great before that.

It just doesn't seem to make sense because if I'd continued to order for those 2 months, it would have been fine having one at this weight.
It was actually last issues on 27th July, and i took my last dose of that one of 3rd Sept as I didn't start that until August as still had other one left.
So it's only been 7 weeks without one.

Well randomly I've just had an email from them to say my order of 2 pens have been dispatched!! Yet I only tried to order one, got an email telling me it was cancelled and refunded and a pending refund in my bank 🤔 How odd!

Simple will only let you have a gap of 12 weeks maximum without ordering (unless you can prove you had a stockpile that you were taking so effectively no gap, or under 12 weeks gap).

If you go over 12 weeks, then you have to have your BMI over 30 (or 27 with certain medical conditions) to go back on it. They are very strict on this.

Also, if they think you've gone more than 2 weeks since last having a dose, they make you go back down to 2.5mg. I had this back in early summer - I'd gone up to 10mg and was very poorly on it, so had to come back down quite quickly by counting click. I contacted them to tell them what I'd done (and ask for advice, but it took them over a week to get back to me) and when I eventually spoke to someone they said that counting clicks was going against guidance, and therefore not counted as a dose. Even though I explained why. I'd wanted to order a 5mg pen, as that's what I settled on, but they would only let me order 2.5mg.

@MamaorBruh have you managed to get a pen now? If not try Pharmulous as they allow up to a 12 month gap.

Hi,

Yes - my original supplier actually sent it me out and said they had made an error by refusing it!

Hi,

Yes - my original supplier actually sent it me out and said they had made an error by refusing it!

They are making lots of ‘errors’ of late. Told me after 1 month on 7.5 that I was now in maintenance (which was news to me as I wasn’t at goal either and my bmi didn’t suggest maintenance) and if I stayed on the dose it would be considered off label and they couldn’t support me so I could go up or down so had to go down to a dose which was no longer working for me. I wasn’t going up as I had a few side effects from the 7.5 so going up so soon wouldn’t be ideal.

Came to reorder on Friday and whilst I can order 7.5 and there is no talk of maintenance etc. the price has gone up. Although according to their site they have 2 prices, 1 higher price for new patients and the old price for returning patients, of which I am one as I’ve been with them since December.

Couldn’t speak with anyone, had no response to my chat questions and to be honest if it’s going to need me to contact them every time to resolve an issue or get a ‘code’ to discount it then quite frankly it’s not worth the effort. They are one of the largest suppliers of weight loss medication in the U.K. and are now being greedy. They also won’t stop pushing Wegovy. You’d think they’d be happy people want to pay more for MJ but I suspect they’ve got too much Wegovy and are getting better kickbacks from it. So I’m out, gone to Medicine Marketplace who prescribed me on Friday and delivered on Saturday via Royal Mail too.
