Swapping from MJ to Weygovy

I have today finished my last MJ pen. I’m on 7.5 mg. Due to the price increase I’m swapping to Weygovy. My supplier recommended 1mg
However I’m going away in 2 weeks and don’t want to jab when I’m away.

Given it will be 4 weeks now before my next jab the dose of 1mg will be too much so I need to be on .25 when I start.

I don’t know whether to use the 1mg for the next 2 weeks then have 2 weeks off and carry it on after a 2 week break or order a .25 which will then mean I waste half the pen.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

tbh I would just take the pen with me and inject whilst away. Or, start the 1mg pen, and then adjust your injection day if you can do that you inject the day you go away, and then the day that you come back.

The wegovy pens last 6 weeks, so if you really don't want to jab you could carry on when you got back. You don't have to waste it as it won't expire and a 2 weeks break isn't long enough to need to start from the bottom again.
Looking at sone reviews, some find the 1mg weak. I've ordered 1.7mg, I'm currently on 10mg but been upto 15mg before.

Mine only lasts 4 weeks and on the fourth week the pen was completely used up (there was always extra in the Mj pen). I have found the 1mg very weak and have put on 4kg in the last month!! My appetite is through the roof!

You get 4 doses yes but expiry is 6 weeks after opening unlike mounjaro which is 30 days. You could take it every 5 days to increase concentration. The new M pens won't have the extra for the bonus dose.
Are you tracking your food and eating lots of protein? Also drink water if hungry inbetween meals. What dose of M were you on? I'd also recommend liquid berberine which is an appetite suppressant and I started taking it on hungrier days because I've tapered down and it works great! Stops the cravings and tummy rumblings.

I drink lots of water, just have the most awful sugar cravings! Never been a fan of sweet things until I started the injections, but all I want to eat is chocolate! So I really need to cut that out. I’ve drunk far too much wine this month, a succession of work events, birthdays, catching up with old friends etc. Combined with an increased appetite (on Mj I could easily not eat until 2pm, have a small lunch, then light dinner), I’m not surprised the weight has piled on again!

That might be an option. If I jab the day before we leave it’s 2 weeks away then jab the day we return.

I don’t want to take an open pen with me which it would be because I’d need to start it next Friday.

Did you start on MJ then move to WGY?

I took my last dose of 15mg MJ last week and due to start 1.7 Wegovy tomorrow. I changed due to the price increase but also MJ hasnt worked great for me in terms of curbing appetite and food noise and the last couple of months there’s been no effect at all.

I’ve only lost 38lbs in 15 months (66 weeks) . I’m happy to have lost some but I’m only halfway to my goal. Compared to some others this is very slow.

I hope Wegovy has an impact but based on what I am reading I’m losing that hope 🙁

Edited to add: I took my MJ pen on holiday overseas a few times. It doesn’t need to be refrigerated so there was no problem transporting it. I’m planning to do same with Wegovy pen

I haven't moved over yet, I'm on MJ and still have 2 x 10mg pens in fridge to use up first but I want to lose half a stone to get me to 9 stones so I'll use them up first. Been on MJ for a year but the hair loss is terrible, even after dropping down and I've tried everything, eating more cals, taking high quality vitamins, biotin, collagen, high protein, more carbs, changed shampoo, none if it has worked. It's definitely MJ so want to move over to W and also to maintain. I ordered W last week as my prescriber had discount sale on.

Good luck with wegovy, keep us posted how you get on. I lose better when I do high protein, low carb and drink lots of water. I also track my food and now deficit is 1019 cals! But I eat upto 1100 to lose otherwise I maintain.

Yeah my hair loss is pretty bad. My hairdresser says the sides in particular. I’m trying collagen and protein powders. My food is the same as always though just less of it and no mindless snacking .

Good luck hope it works, keep us updated. It worked immediately for me and I took it with a growling tummy and within 10 mins it has gone! Couldn't believe it. I take it under my tongue for fast absorption.

Do you get a golden dose with wegovy? Just about to swap from MJ 12.5mg reduced from 15mg for one pen onto 1.7mg wegovy.

I am so worried about putting weight on!

No there is no excess fluid. The new mounjaro pens won't have the extra fluid when they come out either.

I’ve just jabbed for the first time with Wegovy tonight after my last MJ (15mg) last week.

I’m going to think of it as a fresh start… so:

Current BMI 28.7
Current size : 16
goal BMI 24.5
Goal Weight 12 stone 3lbs
Goal size 12-14

Just over 2 stone to go.

On MJ that would take me another year at the rate I was going
