Is there an expiry date on the injection pens?

I bought a 2.5mg mounjaro pen in August but then went on holiday, took it with me but didn’t use it - for a couple of days it wasn’t stored in the fridge - will it be ok to use and restart my weight loss injections?

There’s usually an expiration date on the pen and box

The expiry date is probably fine they tend to be over a year ahead or more when you get them. The issue here is how long since first use. It’s meant to be discarded after 30 days. The reality is many users go over that but how far is a matter of your own personal risk and what you are happy to do. The supposed dangers are time for contamination to grow - eg bacteria that’s entered the pen during use and reduction in efficacy. If it was the end of August it won’t be too far over…

I just re-read you post, did you not ever use it? If it’s not been pierced by a needle then it’s absolutely fine. No contamination risk, slight possibility of reduced efficacy depending on temp it was at but unlikely. Give it a go they are too expensive to waste.

It should be stored in the fridge until first use. If it was stored at room temperature for 2 days that might have started the 30 day in use count down.

You could try this https://tempex.lilly.com/uk/

ideally you should ask your provider.
