My coat smelt of food/cooking as I had left in in the kitchen whilst cooking and the smells obviously clung to my coat.

And the fabreeze flattened by lovely blow dry.

Another positive with the GHD duet styler, is it’s quite heavy so my bingo wings will get a work out too!

😂 very rude of someone misting you with ‘cotton breeze’ without asking tho.

Sounds like a dual purpose tool - dumbbell doubling as a beauty product 💪🏻 🙌

I think the BBC could do with some fresh blood given all of its recent troubles, so maybe you should send in your CV so you can show off your lovely voluminous locks!

Happy Monday gang.

Just checking in and wishing you all a skinny week ahead.

No workout for me this morning - still feeling very under the weather thanks to a stinking cold i brought home from London. So if anyone needs me I will be in the corner under a blanket sipping hot Ribena!

Feel better soon!

I’ve started with a cough over the weekend and feel like poo today (stuffy nose, headache, generally pants). I can’t blame London so I will blame nursery instead. Cancelled my Pilates class for tomorrow morning. Have a work thing on Thursday I need to travel for, may the power of paracetamol prevail!

there is so much to unpack here…obviously i’m delighted about your hair regrowth and your perky norks. That’s a given. But you can’t keep us all hanging…why did your coat smell? And of what?

I am now looking up the duet styler…Think I’m in for an expensive week again 😂

I bought this coat from Top shop. Sent a picture to DD at Uni of me in it only for her to reply, “why are you dressed like the dog?” 😂

Ooh this reminds me, I have a real fur coat in the attic which belonged to my mum. I have no idea where from and what type of fur it is. I would be too afraid to wear it in case someone hurls a bucket of red paint over me (and to be fair, I wouldn’t purchase a real fur item in the first place). I do wonder what to do with it.

I have a friend who went through a vegan phase and started wearing ‘faux fur’ badges on her clothes, maybe I could invest in one and try to style it out 🫣🤣

Hair joy……

Last week I had to get my photo taken for a work publicity promotion.
I spent considerable time blow drying my hair, so it would appear in the photo that I actually had some.
I had to wear the company uniform which in the past I got out of as it didn’t go to a big enough size. Anyway, all dressed ready to go, looked in the mirror, and it wasn’t a good look. My nipples were clearing pointing due south.
Not a problem, I had plenty of time so would go to bra fitting shop enroute.
After the malarkey of being measured, my Percy’s are now pointing upwards and outwards, and my clothes and figure looked so much better. Whooshed up my hair, all good!

I then went to put my coat on and I got an unpleasant waft. I sniffed my coat and the sales assistant was looking at me so I said “Does my coat smell’? She did a sniff test then told me to turn around which I duly did, and I then smelt the sweet sickly odour and felt the mist falling all over me and my newly blowdried hair.
I had literally been fabreezed!!

Time was of the essence and I dashed to photoshoot.

When I saw the photos, OMG, my hair, my scalp, it’s all I could focus on. I was gutted!

For 18 months, since the time I had long, bouncy, volumous hair, I have been pondering on buying the GHD duet styler, but it’s expensive, I couldn’t justify it.
Anyway, getting to the point….
i bought it in the Black Friday sale, It’s a game changer for me. Used it twice now and my hair looks amazing, big and bouncy and not only that, I am delighted to say that because I have taken the time to dry my hair section by section. I can see loads of new hair, it’s about 2-3 inches long but it’s there.
oh Joy!
So my bald friends, if you have got this far, your hair will grow back, just be patient. 🙂

Oh my good god! I cannot believe she febreezed you! This has made me laugh out loud though. Very excited to hear about the hair styler and new hair growth, hooray!

SerenePeer · 25/11/2025 09:43

Omg @lovealongbath ! Febreezed!!!! That's a new one to add to the list of changing room mortificiations!

@goldleafcat lemsip has been my constant companion! Even put some in my stanley cup to keep me fortified during a dog walk and again at the supermarket! 😂

@Mounjaropen love the coat!! I desperately need a new smart winter coat as my current one absolutely drowns me!

RayonSunrise · 25/11/2025 09:52

Morning all!

@lovealongbath From one baldie to another your hair story gives me hope! But the unexpected Fabreezing was really not on - your poor hair! But at least you had fabulous new scaffolding under your uniform.

Now I am looking up hair tools. Oh dear. 😂

@Mounjaropen , @Goldleafcat - I am also hankering over a furry coat. Right now I am resisting, it’s Christmas soon, I have to buy nice things for OTHER people now. 😂

Well after all my steady losses, over the weekend I’ve gained a kilo - which seems pretty extreme, so I’m putting it down to too much salt and too many carbs = water retention. My clothes all still fit though, so I am not panicking yet.

Confirming my continued skinny bitch status, I bought some M&S Size 8L jeans off Vinted because I’d belatedly realised we’ve planned a country ramble with friends and EVERY pair of jeans I have that fit are flared/wide leg/not what I want to be clambering over stiles in. So I got some straight leg turn ups and they fit very neatly, helped by the hefty dose of elastane in modern clothing. Still, they’re not falling down my waistline like some of my 10s are, so I’m taking the win. (And I am NOT starting a cycle of looking to replace things with 8s, I have only just got 10s!)

Have a fabulous skinny week, everyone.

PinkArt · 25/11/2025 10:20

I tried a longer length leopard fur coat on the other day. I don't even think it fitted properly when I bought it years ago but optimism must have won over biology. It doesn't fit well yet but it's not far off.
@lovealongbath the regrowth is lovely to spot, isn't it. I've got a fringe so it's been easier to monitor the new baby hairs at the front. They aren't far off my eyebrows now.

RayonSunrise · 25/11/2025 10:42

@PinkArt Sounds like something to look forward to! I love the idea of a leopard coat right now - I wear a lot of solid colours and the pattern/texture appeals to me. Also, I watched Riot Women recently and was quite taken with Rosalie Craig’s character’s coat. (Yes I know she was supposed to be a Courtney Love-style mess, but she looked pretty great actually…)

I can't recommend a leopard fur coat enough! Or a pink fur. Or a rainbow stripe fur....
Partly due to a wool allergy, partly due to no self control I've got a large assortment of faux furs. They're so cosy when the weather is like this.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 25/11/2025 17:05

Oooh. I spent far too much time yesterday looking at fake fur coats. I want one that’s really really furry - not teddy bear or borg - proper long soft fur. It also needs to look like I could wear it in Narnia, and ideally cost less than £50 because like @RayonSunrise I need to start spending money on other people and not just me. I’m not sure this is achievable.

jay55 · 25/11/2025 20:40

I tried my fake fur on last week, had stored it in a packing cube and it came out enormous, so static, felt like I was in an ostrich suit. So I didn’t wear to the funeral but will find an event for it, once it’s called down. Maybe I should febreeze it.

Not sure if this is any good, but I saw it instore today. Fits your budget and is long fur.

Maybe leave it in a steamy bathroom then use a hair dryer on a cool setting to revive the fur?

hope the funeral went as well as it could 💐

Snap! I’ve got a beautiful bright blue one. The family called me Sully when I used to wear it 😂
