Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5394264-mounjaro-starters-nov-24-thread-13-the-one-where-we-are-lucky-to-end-our-best-summer-in-years-thinner-and-more-comfortable-in-our-own-skin?page=40

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Happy birthday @Mounjaropen, your outfit sounds amazing! Enjoy your vintage Champagne!

It was a tough gig but I pushed on through 😂

NSV - I could stand up in the vertiginous heels for a couple of hours without issue. 💪🏻

@LindtCurvesshows there is such a strong need for a long term maintenance dose of this magic.
For the cravings, depression, addiction and inflammation. It’s a medical marvel.

Ive a relative who could use the help it’s given some of you on then booze front, but they’re not fat enough to get a prescription.

Thanks for all the thoughts, it’s the fourth family loss in three years and so difficult to manage when still dealing with the estate etc of the last one.

Sympathies @jay55 sorting out probate and houses along with grief is just shit.

I looked at those blade heels and there’s no way I could wear for any length of time. I used to worry my weight would break high heels and now I just worry about falling 😂

Weighing in.

F in my 30s
H 5’ 6
SW 14st
CW 9st 7
GW 9st 7 1/2

Despite eating more calories some days last week (large portions of chicken, steak etc), I haven't gained (1/2 pound isn't a gain in mye eyes, it's the weight of a glass of water 😉)

That's 6 weeks without gaining, with no particular effort made not to gain, apart from a 7.5mg jab every 14-21 days.

Anniversary is 2 weeks away, let's see if I can keep this up!

I like this idea. Do you stretch your pens to 8 weeks? There seems to be quite a few making pens last longer.

Mounjaropen · 17/11/2025 08:31

lovely to hear from you! Well done on losing the 2kgs 🙌I’ve definitely noticed my hunger levels increasing as I drop down, managing that definitely takes planning and prep. I can’t believe that Tesco sold 10m ‘protein pots’ last year. Basically 2 boiled eggs.. how hard is it to boil eggs at home and put them in a small Tupperware? I also say this as someone who is eyeing up Victoria Beckham’s new foundation at £104 a pop..so I guess we all choose where to spend our cash 😂

lol-I can boil an egg but I can’t make magic skin potions 🤣🤣🤣 so I’m with you on that 😁
I think the 2kg was the easy win start of a diet whoosh rather than fat leaving my body! Anyway I’m being good today 😇
feeling the benefits of jabbing on Saturday night.

This is the approach I’m taking, too. Have been pondering going down to 5mg next and seeing how I go, but I am doing things by feel - wish I had been tracking in Shotsy so I could work out what level of MJ I’m going to in maintenance by stretching out the gap between injections! Has anyone been doing that?

RayonSunrise · 17/11/2025 12:14

Mounjaropen · 17/11/2025 08:49

😂

i actually had a fair few compliments which was lovely. Plus the usual messages after a SM post with the ‘what are you doing? Please share your secrets’ …. I might put the dress on vinted today though… it is very distinctive and a bit bum skimming 🤣

Hark at you and your fabulous bum-skimming sparkly frock. Bet your Mr appreciated it. 😁

High heels - now that’s a good S&B topic! I used to love them, despite (because of?) already being tall. I’d fallen out of the habit of wearing them during the pandemic (as did everyone). Then I gained weight and my feet couldn’t manage anyway, so the worldwide move to comfy shoes suited me completely.

Now I am quite happy to wear a heel or two again but I feel very dressed up when I do. I think they’re coming back though? I hope so, there are some gorgeous ones in my wardrobe and lurking on Vinted.

RayonSunrise · 17/11/2025 21:23

Hair update! When I took my running cap off today there was clear evidence of a veritable forest of new growth, 1-3cm long, all around my hairline and top of my head. 🎉

I’m thinking the biggest factor is likely my reduced MJ dose (I dropped from 10 to 7.5mg after the great price panic in Aug, then started stretching time between jabs), but the daily collagen (now nearly 2 months in) and topical rosemary oil 2x week may have done their thing too.

Hard to say how many weeks actually! I’ve lost count.

Operating on a ‘jab when I feel I need to’ basis. Once this pen runs out I’ll get a new, lower dose one, and keep it handy for when I feel my mood and behaviours take a turn for the worse

Checking in with 1lb loss this week. I am officially at goal now but feeling that I would like to lose another half a stone to feel 'safe'. Will have to be brave a face maintenance soon.

It’s my MJ-versary today!!

I remember having it my fridge for a few days and being very anxious about taking it. And then struggling to press the plunger down once I’d stuck the needle in. Funny how routine it became after a while.

I’ve gone from a size 14 to an 8. Lost 6 inches off my waist, 7 inches off my boobs. My visceral fat has gone from 12 to 5 (I’m never sure what that measures but I know it’s taken me from having lots of fat around my organs to a much more healthy amount). My phone measured V02 max has gone from 29.8 to 39.9. My mild hypertension has gone. I’m running 2-3 times a week and have booked a half marathon for next year. My risk scores for heart attack, stroke and diabetes are low. There have just been so many positives and health benefits to starting Mounjaro.

I was on MJ for 30 weeks and been off it now for over 20 and managing to hold my weight in a steady zone.

looking back at photos from this time last year can be a bit weird. I remember feeling I had to emphasise my stomach to prove I was ‘big enough’ and worrying I wouldn’t be eligible. I definitely didn’t need to do that, at my tiny height it was very clear I was obese! What a year we have all had!

jay55 · 18/11/2025 21:31

Well done on @random223congrats on goal Daffodil

And great results @Cantbesure

I've not jabbed for nearly 2 weeks. I needed to make sure I didn’t have any side effects while travelling and so delayed and not worked out when I should do the next one. And I’ll be honest the desire to comfort eat a little is strong. But suppression has prevented any binges.

Thanks everyone for kind words, the funeral went really well, big turnout. I had so many comments on my weight loss. Even the widow, as soon as I went over she said “You’re disappearing”. It’s been just over a year since the last funeral, when we all saw each other, and so it is quite a big visual difference. Usually it would be lovely, but it was weird to navigate on such a sad day.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 18/11/2025 23:05

Great results @Cantbesure . I am still plodding with MJ as not quite at a healthy BMI get 5 and half pounds to go. I ran 5.4k tonight which is mind blowing compared to 9 weeks ago and it would never have entered my mind last November. I feel as though I now want to do 5k-2-10k with the run club.

Glad the funeral went well @jay55 Hopefully the weight comment gave you a moment of joy during a tricky day.

I do need a new winter coat. I have a new rain coat that fits beautifully at the moment but my size 18 winter coat which was a little too tight last November is now way too loose to keep out the chill given there is 36% less of me 😂 I am going to write a letter to Santa (DH needs clear signposting)

You are doing so well with your running. Well done. My aim is to be consistent through the winter. I think if I can run regularly in the worst of the weather then that should set me up for the rest of the year. My club does a lot of trail running though which I don’t like in the dark and wet so I need to make sure I get out by myself if I don’t make club runs.

I loved last years coat I got on Vinted but it’s too big now :(

Tbf, I think a winning combination of Pvolve strengthening my ankles plus obviously being 61lbs lighter makes a huge difference to the strain on them in high heels. I was chuffed to be able to wear them though.

This is my plan for my next 5mg pen..2.5mg doses 7 days apart. I’ve stretched out the current 5mg pen to 3.75mg 7 days apart so 6 doses and that’s been fine. I keep everything refrigerated.

From my adventures in this past month, I’d say in general people are dressing up more, so yes, heels are back in I’d say.

Stay off the S&B topic, it’s worse than AIBU for mean girl behaviour at the moment…!

🥳 i’ve definitely also got regrowth which I’m very happy about. My head has slowed since I became a bit more stringent with my testosterone application, which I had become a bit slapdash about. Plus, I have been titrating down. I was reading an interesting article in the paper this week (possibly the daily fail) and for the second time a product made by Sweed was recommended. I can highly recommend their eyelash serum which is tremendous. But apparently now they have a hair loss product. They are very pricey and you don’t get much bang for your buck, but according to the reporter the results were impressive over a short period of time.
