Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I have no goal weight - I’m making them up as I go! for now the main goal is to get the BMI under 30 - I was over 50 when I started so that will be a huge achievement

flametrees · 23/09/2025 21:31

I’ve been MIA but still plugging away. Finally in the 9’s.

Excellent thread title @Mounjaropen. I spent yesterday evening culling the too big coats from the downstairs coat hooks and replacing them with coats from the Narnia wardrobe in the spare bedroom (huge, mirrored, antique wood). All of the small coats now fit. I may or may not have spent today enjoying going outside so I could swoosh about in a knee-length corset-belted black coat that I have worn exactly once before. And damn, it looked good! I really like coats.

Lovely shiny new thread, great thread title, Thank you @Mounjaropen

I have a smart bottle green fitted winter coat from 25 years ago, which now does up and looks fabulous. I have also bought a new every day coat, size 12 as opposed to my old one which I was surprised to see was size 20 and totally swamped me!

Checking in after a week's holiday in Portugal.
Aiming to maintain. Currently jabbing 12.5mg, every 10+days

SW16.5
CW 11.2
TWL 5 stone 3lb
STS on holiday which I am delighted with.
I stuck to my 3 golden rules; managed to swim lengths every day, no bread and nothing with added sugar. Otherwise, I ate, drank and made merry!
Will now have an 11 day gap between jabs.

Sadly my new summer clothes need to be put into hibernation for a while, I just love floaty dresses and lots of colour, but I hate feeling cold so I need to start wearing warmer things.
However, Winter clothes are at the ready having done quite bit of sewing so they fit. Looking forward to finding some new ones on Vinted or in the sales.

Wow @montston what an amazing weight loss. 7 stone is a stunning achievement. Congratulations. I think setting goals as you go along is a really good idea, as we then get the thrill of achieving them, and makes the long journey less daunting.

Happy Wednesday everyone.

Good morning friends in my phone!

Interesting article from The Times this morning which I related to 😂 I’ve put it through a paywall remover so everyone can read it.

<a class="break-all" href="https://archive.is/20250924042606/www.thetimes.com/life-style/fashion/article/mounjaro-dresser-fat-loss-harriet-walker-l9cvp9s0k" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://archive.is/20250924042606/www.thetimes.com/life-style/fashion/article/mounjaro-dresser-fat-loss-harriet-walker-l9cvp9s0k

in other news, I’m now £60 up and have sold 4 items on vinted. Feeling like Rockerfeller this morning 😂

Ooh 🙌 for STS on hols! 👏👏

The dark green coat sounds lush. DD was horrified that I’d sold one of my ‘iconic’ pieces on vinted (it is a red sequinned tuxedo jacket from Zara known as “the game show host” jacket in the family 😂) “couldn’t you have styled it as an oversized jacket?” And Reader, I had to explain that I looked like Tom Hanks in big when he reverts back to being a kid 😂 so I totally relate to finding a size 20 coat and being surprised to find it there.

Here’s to discovering our old/new winter wardrobes 🥰

I love a good coat - I think it’s because it signals that my birthday is near. I lived in hope of having the sort of birthday that you read about in books or watched on telly when your parents (Mum really) make a massive effort and buy you something that you really wanted or was your heart’s secret desire. Alas I never really got one of those hence why I make such a massive fuss of my family for theirs (I’d give Tamara Ecclestone a run for her money in the kids birthday extravaganzas 😂)

The Narnia wardrobe sounds divine 🤗

Checking in on the new thread. I love we are still here almost a year later. And the successes on this page are incredible. We should all be very proud.

SW 147lbs BMI 30
CW 111.5lbs BMI 22.8

i did 30 weeks on MJ and then stopped due to stomach issues. I have been off MJ for over 13 weeks and maintained weight loss. Always happy to answer any questions on coming off MJ and my experiences.

jay55 · 24/09/2025 12:05

Thanks for new thread.
Ive pissed away another .5kg, so just 1.5 away from my low, which doesn’t feel too bad after a week and a half.

Hope everyone enjoying new coats, no longer thinking might as well get a scarf as they fit everyone…

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 24/09/2025 13:01

My rab deep cover down parka is now way too big. I remember last year when I had lost enough weight to be able to easily use the zip without having to breathe in and then again when I could swish the coat around me with hands in pockets. Now there is plenty of room - don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I will have to ask DH for another one

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 24/09/2025 13:13

Oh and if anyone is with Oushk they have a live on tonight about their new maintenance plans (guess they have to tweak them as other providers are now saying they will take people back within a year of stopping and no monthly charge). Hopefully they might cover their new points thing but from what I can work out even with the regular discount and using up my points balance their 10mg pen is still pricey.

Cantbesure · 24/09/2025 15:59

My current Vinted search is for a new coat and I’m reluctantly going to post last year’s coat up. It was a plus size coat so I can’t find a smaller version but I loved it so much last year. Hopefully I will feel the same way when I find its replacement.

Dreamqueen · 24/09/2025 17:13

Checking in. Thank you @Mounjaropen for the new thread & great title.

Does anyone else really feel the cold? At this time last year I hadn't started MJ yet and this overwhelming feeling of cold is really not pleasant. I keep reminding myself that being cold is a good tradeoff for being 3st lighter.
Great loss @montston
@Mounjaropen selling on Vinted is addictive. Surprisingly stuff that I thought wouldn't sell have been among the fastest sellers, so stick everything on there. It's amazing how fast the kitty grows.

RayonSunrise · 24/09/2025 17:51

Hello lovely death-jabbers! In response to the feeling the cold comments, I felt I really did initially last year but much less so now. Mind you it’s not really cold at night yet, so we’ll see! Maybe I’ll be getting myself a massive duvet coat this year.

I have dug out some beautiful Prada boots I bought at one of those London warehouse sample sales decades ago. I used to wear them ALL the time, then they gradually fell out of fashion and weren’t practical to chase toddlers in, and then my calves got too big.

Well they zip up nicely again now - burgundy, long square toe, flared Louis heel. And not in bad shape thanks to their dust bags. I am tempted to look up how much full restoration would cost on The Seam. (I am obsessed with their repair videos…)

PinkArt · 24/09/2025 18:20

👋Having a busy week but popping in to say thanks for the new thread.

Jellybaby30 · 24/09/2025 19:27

Can't believe we are so close to our year anniversary, I'm sure like me plenty started at the start of November! This time last year I'd never heard of MJ and it was on Mumsnet mid October I first read about it and thought ' oh, imagine if it's really that good'. I have reduced from 11mh to 8 5mg after a bad stomach for 4 days 2 weeks ago. I've 7kg to go to goal and am hoping to get as close as poss by Xmas. Loving all your fashion chat, I've yet to get my old winter coat out, hoping to get another year out of it for school - playground duty and beach trips mainly - but have a fab faux fur for the weekends I had always fancied and treated myself to in the post Xmas sales ❤️

random223 · 24/09/2025 19:54

@Dreamqueen - I swear by my merino wool thermals. I am still cold but not freezing all the time!

KentishMama · 24/09/2025 20:45

Hello hello!

SW 100 kg, CW 68 kg, BMI 22.5 or so.

I'm feeling so good now - this must be my happy weight. So this is where I'm planning to stay :)

I've finally started to exercise now. Better late than never, right? I'm doing a Deep Aqua and a Pilates class every week. It's pretty insane how much easier it is to exercise when you're a normal weight. Really enjoying myself.

I also need a new coat. I've not quite figured out what style though. I think a wool coat is needed, but I don't like double breasted styles, and also not a huge fan of belts... plus, coats seem to be very long this year. I probably need to try on a bunch of coats to see what feels right.
