Mounjaro Starters Nov ‘24 Thread 14 - The one where for the first time, ALL of our Winter coats do up 🤗

Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5394264-mounjaro-starters-nov-24-thread-13-the-one-where-we-are-lucky-to-end-our-best-summer-in-years-thinner-and-more-comfortable-in-our-own-skin?page=40

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Checking in for the week with a pound off. Very happy. 5 lbs to goal weight - am wondering if can make my MJ anniversary (5 weeks from today!)

Hi all

i haven’t been here for a while but thought I’d check in. While I’m four weeks away from a year since starting Mounjaro, today marks one year since I started this last est attempt to lose weight (with two awful days of the Fast800!)

SW: 113.5kg / 17st 12lbs BMI 38.1
Today: 67.75kg / 10st 9lbs BMI 22.9

101lbs off! 40% of my starting body weight.

something I only dreamed would every be possible!

thank you for your support everyone, even when I was only lurking, you kept me focused!

IndigoHexagon · 29/09/2025 07:53

i feel amazing! It still doesn’t feel possible some days - brain taking a while to catch up!

I started a new job at the beginning of September and nobody knows me from before - and I’ve totally changed my ‘style’. I could count on one hand the occasions i have worn à dress since the age of 16 - in the last two weeks I’ve worn a different one everyday (thank you Vinted!). A colleague remarked on how lucky I was so be so tall and slender - my face almost broke in two from grinning so widely once I was back in my office! I’ve made the decision to let them just know this version of me and not mention my weight loss but oh my gosh it’s hard when you get compliments like that not to blurt it out!

@IndigoHexagon that is an amazing result! I bet we're all doing wonders for Vinted profits, buying and selling alike!

jay55 · 29/09/2025 10:47

@IndigoHexagonthats incredible and how wonderful to be your new stylish slim self to your new colleagues. You can put the fat you in the bin!

Im a whisker up from my low, about .4, which is fair after the roast and a cocktail and some honeycomb bites yesterday. So that’s a good few kilos of holiday weight gone.
Hoping to be back to losing this week.

MounjNewb · 29/09/2025 13:16

@IndigoHexagon - what an incredible result, just awesome!👏

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 29/09/2025 13:36

It’s great that we can now go on holiday and can shift any weight that we put on fairly quickly @jay55 . Just shows how our focus, at least my focus, has changed. No longer, 🤞🏻, just a gradual shift upwards in weight.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 29/09/2025 13:38

Got to be a klaxon for @IndigoHexagon

what an achievement- well done 👏🏻

IndigoHexagon · 29/09/2025 14:23

Thank You all xx

as an aside … I’ve been having some health niggles which I have finally proved are NOT weight related. My GP emailed the cardiologist at the local hospital to ask for advice while waiting for test results. Cardiologist replied (word for word)….. blah blah blah tell her to drink at least 3ltrs of water a day (have been doing this since this time last year) and increase salt intake, but to be careful (because she is very fat).

I wasn’t supposed to see his reply - I’m just good at reading screens over shoulders. Needless to say I suggested they might have wanted to update my weight on the records for future reference!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 29/09/2025 20:42

Wow, @IndigoHexagon, those are some impressive stats! Well done you!

I’ve just got back from Sardinia with my 7 bikinis - can confirm that they looked good! On the minus side my hair loss is now very obvious, so I’ve messaged MedExpress to ask whether they would advise coming off, starting minoxidil or both. Will see what they say. Helpfully one of the side effects of minoxidil is weight gain!

Dear god, did he actually write ‘because she is very fat’? I’m so sorry you had to see that - especially as you have done so well and clearly are not any more!

Good morning fellow skinnies!

A couple of interesting articles in today’s Times which I thought I’d share with you all (I’ve posted the link already run through a paywall remover so you should be able to see them easily)

  1. www.thetimes.com/life-style/health-fitness/article/ideal-weight-health-longevity-0hj5j6tns" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://archive.is/20250930002533/www.thetimes.com/life-style/health-fitness/article/ideal-weight-health-longevity-0hj5j6tns

I might do the fitness tests later for a bit of fun, but today I’m mainly cleaning the grout lines on the whole of my ground floor which is tiled and minging from the dog not wiping his feet sufficiently before coming inside 🤣 - it’s an annual job that I usually either rope in the whole family to do or pay someone else to do it…but 61lbs off later and 207 pvolve classes mean that I can do it myself without my arms, knees, back and core screaming…I have a dinner party on Saturday so I’m minting the house up. I’m also light enough to get onto my kitchen island to dust my chandeliers over it and replace the lightbulbs (previously only DD was light enough) Definitely this year’s NSV. 💪🏻💪🏻

Have a great Tuesday y’all!

What a cheeky sod! (The doctor)

Hope your health niggles are manageable.

So fabulous about your new wardrobe and job! Being lighter really changes our approach to clothing doesn’t it? I was living in leggings and tunics, and apart from during exercise, I can’t remember the last time I wore leggings in recent months!

My DH dug out a load of clothes I’d squirrelled away in the attic (and kind of forgot about 😱). So I now have a ridiculous amount of clothing which I am in process of trying to sort out (what fits, what’s too big, what I don’t like anymore, what I thought I would love but now it fits there is no way Jose etc). Listed some things on Vinted at the weekend and now I have a pile of stuff packaged up and ready to post later this morning! Will be travelling to the post office and two parcel shops 🤣

What an aspirational NSV, being light enough to dust ones chandeliers!
I have the boujee NSF that my fingers are losing weight more quickly than I expected to and I'm rapidly running out of fingers that fit the majority of my rings.

Similar here - my engagement, wedding and eternity ring are too big. I need to get them resized but am nervous (I lost lots of weight 2018 -2020 but put quite a bit back on after).

I need to be brave.
