Stuck at same weight for 2 weeks - is it time to move up?

I'm currently on Week 6 of Mounjaro 5mg. My weight has stayed the same for the last 2 weeks. I haven't gained any weight but haven't lost any either. I have noticed that the hunger pangs have been creeping back in too.

Would you count no loss for 2 weeks as a stall? I'm wondering if I should move up to 7.5mg. I am very disappointed to have stalled, especially with the recent price increases.

If suppression is waning I would move up. But have you done everything else ie drink more water, up protein, cut carbs, check your calorie consumption etc

It could be your first stall and set point weight.

I have had two stalls 1st was on week 10-13 (was doing 6.25 mg at the time) and second stall was week 21-24 (on 10 mg) both stalls was weight I had in the past during longer period.

I have been moving up doses not nessesarely when I haven’t lost but when I don’t feel the benefit as much and have to rely on myself more , I wished I was a bit more patient at the lower doses though as about to move up to 15mg with 2st to go

also if you already lost a bit you also need to adjust your TDEE and make sure you drink plenty of water

hunger pangs is normal as you move up doses , especially day 5-7 .

I wouldn't necessarily treat it as a stall but it depends how fast you want to lose. I have found that I don't lose consistently, many weeks I stay the same and then there's a whoosh, then I stay the same again and there's a whoosh. I have probably 2 drops a month now I am settled onto the drug. I am purposely trying to stay as low as poss, in my mind because I have to work alongside the drug (I have hunger) and feel that will make it easier when I stop. I can neither afford nor be arsed to be on it forever.

I would wait and try other things like drinking water, counting calories and exercise. At the end of the day it’s a calorie deficit which drives the weight loss not the MJ. Good luck!

My advice is to move up for your next pen.
When I felt that the medication wasn't lasting the full 7 days, or that hunger/food noise was creeping back in I moved up to the next dose.
I was always taking enough so that I was able to eat 3 small/moderate meals a day and not hungry between meals, but never so much that I could not eat.

So, for the first 3 months I moved up each time. Then spent a couple of months at 7.5mg, 3 months at 10mg and finally 12.5mg for the past few months, taking me to my final target.
Personally, I was absolutely committed to following a healthy diet, exercising, and using MJ to the best of its ability to help me. There wasn't much point taking it if it wasn't working optimally.
