Managing holiday on mounjaro

First holiday abroad since I started WLI
I am already quite restricted in what I eat due to lots of food allergies and intolerances
As it’s quite hot I’m even less hungry
At the moment I’m surviving on one meal a day which is tuna/prawn salad or grilled chicken/steak same
I’ve tried asking for 2 starters but only managing to eat one and as a lone traveller feeling quite uncomfortable eating out and just having a starter and a drink
Any suggestions for light meals? I’m gluten and dairy free and doing FODMAP for my IBS
Example of last nights meal!

I was solo in the summer and skipped breakfast, just had coffee.
Ate out at lunch, chicken salads etc
then in evening just had crackers, nuts and some fruit in my room

I wouldn't worry about just ordering a starter and a drink, if that's what will work best for you.

Would there be any grilled/steamed fish options maybe?

IsItSnowing · 21/09/2025 07:06

I wouldn’t feel uncomfortable just order what you want.
I eat quite bland food since being on MJ and I’m vegan and quite often just order sides if that’s all that’s suitable.

If you just want a starter that's fine.
Otherwise I would be looking at the salad options, plus the fish or grilled chicken etc.

Whilst I like garlic prawns they are quite oily and I prefer salad style dishes if that's all I am having.

I don't think it matters what you order at all. You may feel a little self conscious but honestly nobody cares and you are paying your bill so that's just fine.

Lots of fish options plus grilled meats, koftas etc - good job I like salads

I head for tapas bars and just order a couple of tapas

I've had a holiday on 10mg and two short breaks on 15mg.

Found it very easy to just carry on eating less while enjoying myself and don't see the problem. For meals out I had a small plate or starter with a side or just a main course and didn't feel I needed to eat it all if I couldn't. I had one or two alcoholic drinks a night. If you are self catering just give yourself a small portion.

I sometimes had a full cooked breakfast then didn't eat until dinner, or just had a cup of tea and a biscuit for lunch. That's just how I eat now, I'm not going to stop when I come off it.

I even lost a 1lb after two weekends away in a row, and I am really near goal - unprecedented to say the least!

Tapas would be ideal but not available here
Tonight I had salmon but it was overcooked so just ate a bit of salad
