Should I start today? Placement on Monday!

I’ve finally bit the bullet and got wegovy, my first box was delivered last night. I was planning to inject today, but am having second thoughts. I start a 6 week placement on Monday in a healthcare setting and I’m worried about negative side effects hitting while I’m there. Should I wait until after my placement to start, or is there a day I should aim for to get the worst of the side effects out of the way on the weekend?

6 weeks is a lengthy delay to starting treatment, but I suppose not a long time in the general scheme of things. The thing about side effects is that you don't know how you personally will react. You might not get any at all. I didn't, until I was a couple of weeks into the 5mg dose level.

The amount of medication in your system peaks somewhere between 8 and 72 hours after injecting, which can be associated with side effects. Side effects are also more common when moving up a dose level, and in the early weeks of treatment. So you could inject on a Friday morning, and then the peak is likely to be over the weekend, and hopefully any side effects too.
