Looking at weight loss injections to see whether I might try

Can someone please tell me the approximate cost per month. I see pen prices and different doses but not clear if I need 1 pen a week or whether 1 pen has 4 doses.
So £100 a month or £400 a month.

What is thd best one mounjaro? Wegovy? Something else?

Also who is the best supplier. I am now getting all the Facebook spam and not sure which to trust.

Thank you
Just so confusing

look at monj.co.uk or igovy.co.uk for mounjaro or wegovy prices. Those sites show safe GPhC registered pharmacies.

Each pen delivers 4 doses.

Mounjaro is the newest of the WLI and has dual agonists, if you google wegovy vs mounjaro you will see lots of comparisons.

The "best" one is the one that works best for you.

With the recent massive price hikes for Mounjaro cost is coming into the equation more. Most people initially tried Mounjaro but many now are changing to Wegovy as Mounjaro is no longer affordable. My provider says they have seen a 45% shift to Wegovy so far.

A pen has 4 doses, so the prices are for 4 weeks of medication. Everyone starts on the lowest dose for at least 4 weeks before deciding whether they need to move up or not. The lowest dose of Mounjaro is 2.5mg, for Wegovy it’s 0.25mg. It’s hard to know what dose you might end up on. Some people don’t get the full effects until the top doses. So you might need to consider if you can afford the higher doses if you need them.

Look at sites like https://monj.co.uk for a price comparison of registered pharmacies. Be aware that many offer a substantial discount for new customers but you’ll be paying full price for the subsequent orders, or a much smaller discount. Some places offer additional services and operate a subscription model, you would need to be aware of what you’re signing up for and how to cancel if the prices for subsequent orders are too expensive. You can also change supplier as much as you like to take advantage of their new customer deals. The medication is the same wherever you get it from.

Mounjaro is more effective than Wegovy, but both still produce weight loss. Mounjaro is now much more expensive at the higher doses than Wegovy.

Wow @WeAllHaveWings - a 45% shift is enormous, way more than I was expecting.
I’m on MJ and would like to be on it forever. It’s costing me £315 a month now with the price increase, I’m on 15mg.
i think the other posters have answered your questions - I’ll be honest, I didn’t do much research when I started beyond a bit of googling and talking to friends and decided MJ was going to be my best bet to start with. I’ve found it highly effective for me but it doesn’t suit everyone.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 20/09/2025 11:59

@TheChosenTwo I don’t know which pharmacy you are currently with if you are paying way over the odds! The cheapest price for 15mg on monj is currently £253.99!!

TheChosenTwo · 20/09/2025 12:06

@IReallyNeedThisToWork I’m with Oushk, been with them since the start, have never chopped and changed, just cba really.
Couldn’t track any down during August anywhere and providers were prioritising existing customers (rightly so) so just didn’t seem worth it to change anyway. Plus with Oushk I’ve always been able to choose my delivery day which is important to me!
I know it’s possible to get it cheaper elsewhere but I’m happy so long as I can buy it.
I Know loads of people use the monj website to compare prices but I looked at it when I couldn’t get any and had no idea how the website worked at all, found it a headache and gave up!

WeAllHaveWings · 20/09/2025 12:24

@TheChosenTwo That was from Oushk on their recent live they quoted 45% of their customers had made the switch (ordered Wegovy) on their website.

It may be a higher figure at Oushk as they have been quite vocal, rather quickly, to customers about Wegovy being a solid alternative option to MJ and typical Oushk chat forum there is a significant number who fawn over Hira saying Wegovy is a previously overlooked but just as good medication, and/or following the pack.

I expect it will shift quite a bit over the coming months. Some will try Wegovy for a while and perhaps not get on with it as well as Mounjaro and either stop completely or switch back, or some on Mounjaro will have a few pens bought prior to the price hikes to use up before deciding if they are sticking or switching.

Interesting.
I’ve never joined a Facebook live or joined the Facebook group, have only ever heard the name Hira mentioned on here, I’ve avoided all the circus surrounding the whole company so have no idea what’s going on as to the wider picture.
Someone I know on wegovy lost nothing but the lining of her stomach, the active ingredient didn’t agree with her and she ended up very poorly after using it - again different medications affect everyone differently so I’m not saying I’d never use it, it might be fine for me, but MJ has worked brilliantly and other than coldness and hair loss I’ve not suffered any significant issues.
Obviously it’s got more expensive but I can afford it and plan on taking it for as long as possible because it is the only thing I’ve had success with and it has dealt with my hormonal imbalance!
