I don’t suppose there’s anyone out there who has had better suppression on Wegovy than Mounjaro?

Just wondering, as I’ll be making the switch from Mounjaro to Wegovy in the next month or two. Mounjaro has been great for me but it has taken until 15mg to get decent appetite suppression.
What are the chances of someone who is not a super responder (though as I said, it did really suit me for the most part) feeling satisfied on Wegovy?
Thanks.

I struggled to lose half a stone on Wegovy in 6 minutes months inc daily exercise.

I spent nearly 4 weeks in hospital with suppression but that is a whole different environment, I have been on injections since they were daily as opposed to weekly.

Saxenda used to be you had to lose a percent of body weight in so much time whereas this has never been a criteria for ‘weekly injections’ any brand.

Oh, so it didn’t work for you at all then 😬

After good appetite suppression on sema, I decided to do a few weeks of mounjaro to see if I can kick start more weight loss.

As of this morning, after 2 weeks of MJ I have gained a kilo. I've been tracking my food and definitely have eaten less on the MJ. I'm going back to sema this week.

Following, as I'm waiting for a wegovy delivery too after a break on mounjaro.

I'm hoping it works!

Hi. I’ve never heard of Sema. How does it work and is it widely available? Thanks.

@JMSA "Sema" is semaglutide, which is the medication in Wegovy and Ozempic.

persianfairyfloss · 15/09/2025 01:23

Sorry! Yes I was too lazy to type semaglutide out in full.

This is interesting 🥲

I have had 6 months on Wegovy, although I was only on 0.25mg (I hope my units are correct, the numbers are) for the first 3 months because of side-effects (constipation) and haven’t quite lost 5% of my body weight. I’ve just gone up from 1mg to 1.7mg. Every time I increase the constipation comes back. Appetite suppression was so-so, I have definitely managed to eat less, but food noise continues.

The good thing has been a reduction in my other IBS symptoms.

I was hoping Mountjaro might be more effective, but from your experience possibly not?

I think I am an outlier, I've never heard of anyone else having such a poor response to mj. It's definitely worth a trial in your circumstances.

I am extremely pissed off.

I lost 5 stone in 7 months on Mounjaro. No side effects. Took 5 months off then started again to lose a bit more. The price went up so started Wegovy. I wish I hadn't. I feel sick all the time, got headaches and have actually gained a couple of pounds. Anyone else struggled with the switch?

EweCee · 18/09/2025 16:15

I actually lost more on wegovy but then switched to mounjaro in Jan (due to cost) and have not lost anything further (but haven't gone higher than 7.5mg and have had other illnesses so dieting not been a priority.) Am considering switching back to wegovy tonight due to cost - again (and hoping weight loss starts again - 5kg to go!!)
