1 week into Wygovy - awful side effects and feeling miserable

Started wygovy Wednesday last week. No side effects until Sunday. Sunday period started, stomach cramps and back pain - fairly normal for me with period. Now have had 2 days of awful abdominal pain, constipation, severe diarrhea, bloating, painful gas. Lethargic, just feeling rubbish. In peoples experience how long do these side effects last? I dont want to stop it after 1 week because its already helping me but I dont know if I can do weeks and weeks of feeling like this.

With Mounjaro the side effects tend to wear off. It seems like it might have been linked to your period as well?

My periods over now though and today I cant do anything apart from lie in bed with a hot water bottle. The pain in my stomach and lower back is awful. I just wanted to see from people's experiences whether the side effects last a long time otherwise im going to have to stop the medication.

The pain doesn’t sound normal. Some digestive stuff is reasonably common, but if you’re in a lot of pain then I would contact GP. Lower back and abdomen sounds more like kidney sort of pain to me, a UTI or kidney stone.

Could it be food related? I only say this because I know when I'm on my period I crave more unhealthy carby or junk food due to the hormonal changes! Being on WLI means more food intolerances than normal and commonly people react to high carbs or fatty or greasy food.
What dose of wegovy are you on? Also I've just noticed you said you had no symptoms until Sunday when your period started, that's around 4 days after jabbing which is less common for WLI related side effects, that's usually within a day or too, right now the dose should be at a low concentration so would be unlikely to be the culprit! Could you have caught a GI bug?
