What’s the best thing to do now?

I started Mounjaro on August 1; 2.5 dose. I ordered a 5mg one but it got held up and I panicked a bit and ordered another 2.5 one from a different supplier as it was the only one in stock.

I now have the 5mg one but the 2.5 one doesn’t arrive until 11 September. I can’t seem to cancel it. Is it really bad to go to 5mg then 2.5?

You can go back down or you can dose up on the 2.5. Just means it’ll last 2 weeks instead of 4

Or half dose the 5.

It's not "really bad" to go back down to 2.5mg, it would have no medical implications for you other than it may well be less effective and therefore not what you actually want to do.

How have you been on 2.5mg? Do you feel that you need to move up to 5mg? Because you could use the 5mg pen to do half doses to do 2.5mg again.

I might just stay on a half dose then - I don’t know why that didn’t occur to me! The 2.5 seems to be working fine 😂

Surely you can cancel if its not being delivered for over 2 weeks? There must be an option or contact customer service or go through your credit card to cancel. Or if the 2.5mg arrives before your current pen finishes, you can start the new 2.5 first, you can also take it every 5 days to increase concentration which is what my provider suggested when suppression wore off for me on 10mg.

You can’t get through to customer service which is annoying. There’s no option to cancel online either. I guess this way at least it’s cheaper.

I spent 2 months on 2.5, lost 13lbs in month one, 5 in month 2. Went to 5 for a month and lost another 5. Then went to 7.5 - the side effects were disabling in week 1, I couldn’t work for 2 days. So I’m using the rest of my 7.5 pen to go back down to 2.5 for as long as the 20 clicks per dose last. Them I’m calling it quits and using my newly established eating regime and mindset to lose another stone, and maintain

Half dose your 5mg to get as many weeks of 2.5 as you can until you notice a change in eating habits or weight loss stopping. You could then 3.75 it if you’ve got some left/the golden dose. Then you can always 3.75 form your 2.5 or double dose if you want to move to 5…

I started at the same time as you and did exactly the same thing, ordered 5 and was then worried about side effects so ordered 2.5 which then didn’t arrive. So for my 5th jab I took a 2.5 dose from my 5mg pen. I now feel I could have gone up a dose so may try 3.75 next week.

Just half dose - 30 clicks - will make your 5mg pen last 2 months.
