Mounjaro expiry dates. I accidentally used next pen

I’ve currently taken two doses of my current pen and my next pen arrived yesterday. Today was jab day and taking third dose. I didn’t even think about it but I realised after my jab I opened my new pen. Don’t ask me how without realising. So I still have two doses in my other pen and now three in this new one.

I’m an absolute idiot. I’ve never done a golden dose, I’ve always used it for the four doses only then thrown away. Can I still finish the other pen with two doses left? Do I need to throw the new pen away as the final dose will be after 30 days now??

I have used mine (micro dosing) for up to 8 weeks. I wouldn’t worry about it provided it’s kept in the fridge and the liquid looks nice and clear (and you don’t store with the needle still in it).

Well it's happened now, I'd finish off your old pen first, im assuming its the same dose? With 4 doses, its done on days 0, 7, 14 and 21, so even opening the new pen you should be fine.
Officially you can't use a pen over 30 days but a lot do, it's the risk personally taken, ive stretched it to 35 days and been fine, I do keep my opened pens in the fridge. If you have them, use the alcohol wipes to clean the pen rubber end.

Ok, so by my calculations you can do the two remaining doses from your current pen (the original one with 2 doses used) within the 30 days. If you then don't use the remaining liquid for an additional dose, and move to your new pen (the one with 1 dose used), you can do 2 more doses from that new pen within it's 30 day limit. The 4th dose would put you about 6 days over the 30 day limit, which is up to you if you decide that's an ok risk to take. I would be ok with that.

If you use the remaining liquid for a 5th dose from your current pen, then it would push everything further out. The 5th dose from your current pen would be 5 days over it's 30 day limit. You would then be able to take one dose from the new pen within it's 30 day limit, but all the rest would be over. Again, up to you what you are happy with. Personally, if you're scrupulous with hygiene and store them in the fridge then the risks are mitigated, but it's still your decision.

I store them in the fridge and it’s the same dose pen. I never do golden dose as I’m too worried I’ll mess it up if I get a syringe and try and do it so will see how I feel at the last one, hoping it’s not too risky to use it a week after expiry.

Considering that you don’t need to store them in the fridge for the 30 days then I’d take the risk that you’ll be fine after all it’s only one dose.

Your pen 2 last does will be 5 days over the 30 days, but I would think risk is very very low with a combination of staying refrigerated and only used 4 times.
