Sudden side effects, new pen but usual dose

I’ve been on MJ for over a year, slow, steady loss. Never had side effects beyond tiredness and metallic taste in mouth

suddenly, after months on 10mg, I have dreadful sulphur burps and diarrhoeia. These started with my new pen, though it was my usual dose.

anyone have an insight as to why this should have happened ?

This is my experience (although it started after less than a year). It’s awful and I am afraid that it didn’t get better for me despite cutting the dose. Hopefully it will be a one off for you. I had been fine for months and then I had what you describe every time I took more than 4mg Mounjaro (having been on 10mg quite happily) and it started again at 1.3 mg Wegovy after a few weeks on that dose.

Have you eaten any unusual food recently - lots of chocolate or rich fatty food? Looking at that might help but not guaranteed.

Currently I am on a low dose of Wegovy (0.5mg) and taking psyllium husk and prebiotics with digestive enzymes. Just about maintaining and not being ill. Not brave enough to go up to 1mg yet but I might do next time I order to see what happens.

A theory is that as I lost weight I needed/could tolerate a lower dose. I don’t know but I am fed up about it. You see how good it can be and then it is taken away.

Maybe a weird reaction to the particular pen but that is unlikely.

It happened to me, but I am now in maintenance. First happened after pen 3 on 10mg then again when I went down to 7.5 after 3 pens, I think as I’d lost the weight it was just too strong for me, I’ve been happily on 5mg for 3 months now and about to go down to 2.5 to save on cost.
Ive maintained my weight and eat more and feel the lower doses have worked very well.
Could you consider dropping down to 7.5?

the only thing I can think of except an issue with the pen itself is that I have not been able to take exercise because I pulled a muscle. Also, been drinking a bit more than usual because it was sunny and lots of impromptu bbqs, etc

I think I might be switching to Wegovy anyway once this pen is done. Might split the remaining doses to try and avoid another two nights of hell. Poor DH!
