Feeling despondent. Weigh over 23 stone and only 5ft4. Currently prescribed Aripiprazole and Fluoxetine. Was considering Mounjaro but now won't be able to afford it due to the price hike. I've always struggled with my weight but ballooned about five years ago after being prescribed Olanzapine. Hardly have any energy most days. Only had my period three times this year. I'm too heavy to weigh myself on normal bathroom scales. Feel trapped dealing with morbid obesity and will die from this. I'm so tired.

Hi OP I also put on weight on olanzapine, I have lost 5 stone in the last year on mounjaro. Not sure how helpful that is to you with the price changes, but to let you know these meds can help. I wonder if wegovy might be an option.

I'm shorter than you at 5ft 2 and was 16 stone, now 11. Going to either come off os try losing the last bit / maintaining on wegovy perhaps at a low dose. not sure yet.

Am being prescribed mj whilst on Sertraline which is also privately prescribed, yes I pay to take anti depressants.

on the understanding a lymphoedema nurse will say it is easy to get bmi from high 50’s to 30 coming up. Had leg/foot swelling for 5 years which the good old diabetic nurse use to squeal was diabetic foot. (although results never backed this)

They (the provider of glp1) say they need to inform the GP.

Crack on.

Mounjaro can be prescribed alongside those medications as far as I am aware. Do you have any of the health conditions that would enable you to get it prescribed on the NHS? Alternatively you could try Wegovy. Good luck

I have had no problem with getting it prescribed with the meds and always declared them. The GP has also been supportive of it.

Hi OP, I felt the same as you after I gained about 5 stone on olanzapine in 4 years. I was miserable.

If you can somehow find the money, just go for it. I'm still on antipsychotics and mood stabilisers (lurasidone and lamotrigine) but have now lost 5 stone and feel so good. I started at 22.3 stone.

I found at the start I was saving so much money from takeaways and junk food as they all stopped. The lower doses 2.5/5mg pens aren't increasing as much as the higher doses.
