Gap between Mounjaro and starting on Wegovy?

I have been on Wegovy before and then changed to Mounjaro. With the price increases I would like to change back. When moving before I followed the recommended five week gap between the different drugs. Does anyone know if that is still recommended now? If I am on 7.5mg Mounjaro could I just the next week take Wegovy instead? Maybe a smaller dose of Wegovy like 0.5mg?

On the Medexpress website it says to just continue on the new medication and shows the Wegovy equivalent. this is the link.

Thank you - both of those seem to suggest no waiting which is what I was hoping for! Partly because I have some wegovy left over from when I was on it before and some of the pens have an expiration date of Jan 2026!

Have just switched to Juniper ad also switched from mounjaro to Wegovy and their pharmacist review said take mounjaro as usual and Wegovy as usual a week later. We decided on starting on Wegovy 0.5 as I am on 5mg Mounjaro.

Ive only seen Zava/Asda say you have to wait 4 weeks and start on the lowest dose. Good news about the left over pens too!

I’m with Asda and messaged them asking how to go about switching and to confirm if the 4 week washout period as stated in their website is still up to date advice as some other suppliers are saying one week. So far not received a response but they are usually a bit slow. I’d like to stay with them as I find it easier to collect than risk missing the delivery. Will probably go back to the lowest dose to start as I’m worried about side effects. .

Thank you for info. I am not concerned about side affects as have done plenty of time on first Ozempic and then Wegovy. Will probably leave it a week or two then start - not five weeks as I did before

Yes you can swap. Take your last 7.5mg of Mounjaro wait 7 days then take the 0.5mg of Wegovy

Looks like Asda have now also updated their advice for switching I/e no longer advising 4 weeks washout and not starting at lower dose either….

Switching from Mounjaro to Wegovy is straightforward, but you must follow the correct steps to stay safe:
Check with your doctor – make sure Wegovy is suitable for you.
Confirm your new dose – your doctor will suggest a starting dose of Wegovy based on your current Mounjaro dose, and whether you’ve had any side effects
Stop taking Mounjaro after your final injection – you can stop straight away if you no longer want to take it, or you might choose to finish your medication first so as not to waste it.
Wait 7 days before starting Wegovy – this makes sure it’s safe to start taking Wegovy.
Start Wegovy – take your dose of Wegovy when you would expect to take your next dose of Mounjaro, 7 days after the last one.
Increase your dose gradually over several weeks if you want to, just as you may have done with Mounjaro.

I'm in the same position. I was on 12.5mg Mounjaro then swapped to Wegovy two weeks ago, but have found food noise and hunger return. I'm going to swap back to Mounjaro. I assumed I could leave it 7 days from my second Wegovy dose and restart Mounjaro at the dose I was on before. I thought I'd do a search about it, but have come across conflicting advice.
