Where to start - mj or Wegovy

I’d like to start with injections but I’m not sure where after the recent changes for mounjaro costs.

I half signed up to juniper but then instead of the advertised £85 it jumped to £164 for wegovy I'm not adverse to having a ‘program’ but it put me off that the cost jumped so much on checkout without any previous indication it would.

I’m sure there are loads of threads on where to start or providers of injections or programs but they weren’t on the first page so thought I’d try to get the latest advice :)

plus if people think juniper is worth it I’ll click the ok button

For what it's worth, I've heard Juniper is decent. However, I think if I were in your shoes, I'd wait until after September 1st when we will know what the new prices for MJ are, so that I could make a fully informed decision.

As above you are probably better off waiting until the 1st of September for Mounjaro prices and then work out which would be better for you going forward.

Use the below websites for best prices on both medications, you will find all the discounts available there too.

Is the 85 for saxenda, as it says weight loss treatment but not the type, mounjaro and wegovy would cost way more.

I would wait to see what the prices are going to be first. There maybe some deals for new starters come September as pharmacies find out how many customers they have, how many switch to Wegovy etc.

Thanks for the advice I didn’t realise that the 1st September was a good date to start so will wait til then

The juniper was for wegovy with a significant discount voucher I’ve been hesitant for some time about injections but cannot seem to lose weight any other way :(

The injections are great, honestly. With the 1st September, this is the date that the higher prices for Mounjaro come into force. At present none of us really know what they will be!

If you ordered Mounjaro now your first dose would be cheaper than it would be going forward, but you'd be starting a course of treatment that you might find becomes unaffordable after the price changes - or maybe not as obviously I don't know your financial situation!

If you waited, you'd not get the saving on your first pen but you'd know where you stood for the future.

Wegovy hasn't had a price hike announced (although hard to say what will happen in the future) so if you chose to start that right now, you will hopefully be ok to continue on the current prices.

Hope this all makes sense!
