travel insurance on WLI

People may already know this, but just in case some don't I want you to know that you have to declare that you are taking WLI.

I am going to Spain in 4 weeks time so decided to update my annual travel insurance to cover the WLI. I do already have pre existing health conditions, but these have already been declared. They want an extra £109 just to update because I am using WLI. I asked whether the increase is due to the weight loss injections, and they said yes.

I have now cancelled that policy and gone for a single trip one that has cost £33, still with all the same medical conditions., so considerably cheaper.

I would shop around. Mine is with Aviva through my bank account and they added it without any extra charge.

Mines the same as IsItSnowing, there was no where to say taking mounjaro when I updated, but obesity was an option, which I added for no cost. I then phoned them up to double check and was told if its not needed for medical reasons there's no reason to add. But having read horror stories about HRT I just wanted to make sure there was some kind of flag.

Yes, Aviva put it as obesity even if you're not obese anymore lol. I just wanted to make sure it was noted on my policy so there can be no issues if I need to claim at some point.

It is always worth checking.

You have to declare obesity on travel insurance. It is amazing how few people do and who really should.

My travel insurance had no interest in WLI as I am no longer obese. I did call them and they were happy it was being properly prescribed.

What were the horror stories about HRT and travel insurance?
