My tale of Mounjaro woe

I've read in a few places that 2.5mg is a starter dose to get bodies ready for true suppression. I've just started my second pen and doing pretty well on it. But I'm having a busy August and earlier this week met up with an old friend for a delicious meal out. Margo in Glasgow if you are interested- amazing place. So I thought I was being careful, ate as healthily as possible. Went to bed happily that night and felt fine. Until about the same time the next night when I had all the bad effects I've read about at one time. Sulphury burps, nausea and of course the dreaded cramps and the need to "go" as quickly as possible. However my biggest problem was that this happened when I was in the middle of Murrayfield Stadium watching Oasis. I still had a fantastic time and just about managed to hold on to my dignity, but lesson learned, I guess.

I missed my step daughters wedding reception as I drank champagne during the make up and hair session.... Got to the afternoon reception after the ceremony and felt so poorly that I had to leave at 8.30pm 😭

A horrid lesson to learn!! X

I found my appetite had reduced even with the 2.5 dose, so it could just be that that dose will work for you (and you therefore need to reduce your intake, as eating too much on MJ will absolutely make you feel like shit!)

Oh poor you. I’ve been on it since April - gradually worked my way up to 5mg. I’ve been so lucky in terms of these side effects. I get the off night when I wake up feeling bloated and farty but I’ve managed to eat meals out and enjoy drinks reasonably unscathed so far. Of course you never know when the side effects may hit so I’ll keep your cautionary tale in mind!!

Anything too fatty or rich makes me feel like this. And more than a few glasses of wine. I still eat lovely food, but in small quantities and when my body tells me I’ve probably had enough, I do listen to it. I had a few incidents of just ploughing on in the early days, as I would have pre-MJ…like you say, you learn that lesson pretty quick!
