Can I ask what you eat now?
Are you hungry again?
Do you feel better not injecting?

I have been off for 2 months now- I stopped cold turkey as I was bored of feeling tired all the time- would do it all over again though as the tiredness was worth the 6 stone loss!

My appetite returned to pre-mounjaro levels after around 2 weeks but my willpower is much better now and I have continued to be strict with myself- I have continued to eat and enjoy the same foods I was eating whilst injecting still- I have actually lost 3 more pounds in my time coming off. I feel it’s easier for me to remain disciplined when I have achieved my goal as the thought of going back to a heavier weight is enough to make me step away from the chocolate!

Amazing @Stephanddaph hope your willpower sticks 🙌

@10storeylovesong
That’s interesting about the blood pressure as I am in the same position, it’s getting really annoying. I am slowly reducing the MJ dose, is that what you did? If so, when did you start to feel better? I was on 10mg for months and now down to 8mg.

Or did you just stop taking it one day (and if so when did you start to feel better?)
I’m not quite at goal but happy to start maintaining now - just a bit nervous to go cold turkey in case I regain. But equally cannot be doing with feeling this ill for weeks / months while I gradually reduce the dose to a point where my bp recovers.

The emerging advice is to not go cold turkey - it will go back on in the overwhelming amount of cases: of course the only way to test this is to do it, but I wouldn’t have any faith in myself tbh!

I reached my goal about 7 or 8 months ago and I’ve stayed at 9 stone 7 / 9 stone 9 ever since then. I still take a maintenance dose to maintain and try and ‘cement’ in this loss (I lost around 77lbs) and I intend to do this for this year at least and then come down to an even lower dose

the science of maintaining makes depressing reading and I have no reason to believe I’ll be some sort of outlier so for me, I’m taking it slowly for now

Following with interest.
I’m a few pounds from goal and aiming to drop a few more while titrating down, to give myself a bit of a buffer. (Goal is bmi 25)
I’ve been on 10mg for a few months now and have 2 more 10mg in the fridge.
I’ll then drop to 7.5, 5, then a last pen of 2.5mg.
Wondering if that’s gradual enough?

What maintenance dose do you take?

Thanks @10storeylovesong that’s really interesting and gives me hope! Are you finding it ok managing your diet without any MJ in your system? I just assumed I would need to stay on it but would love to be off it completely. My next dose is due on Tuesday, I’ll do 7.5mg I think, down from 8mg last time. My original plan was to reduce really slowly over maybe a year but there’s no way I’m feeling like this for that long. I’m also low on B12 so hope with the combination of more of that and less MJ I start to feel better soon and can get back to exercising, which is not really feasible at the moment.

doodleschnoodle · 10/08/2025 17:29

I came off in March/April time after losing 5.5 stone. I lost another 5-6lbs off it but have stabilised now. It actually took a bit of work to up my calories to a maintenance level, especially as I’ve added a lot of exercise. I eat similarly to when on MJ but try to add in more healthy protein when I can as I’m doing a lot of strength training now.

I only made it to 3.75 dosage so perhaps that made it a bit easier as I didn’t really titrate down, I just stopped as there wasn’t ever a huge amount in my system anyway.
