Bad experience with IQdoctor after first order with them. Anyone else had issues with them?

I ordered 5mg Mounjaro from IQdoctor yesterday morning around 6am. Payment was taken immediately (not just pre-auth, the payment has gone through fully). I was told I would need to submit selfie pics for the order to be processed. I sent these in at around 7.30am yesterday morning. Order still shows as "pending (paid)". I've sent an email and opened a support ticket asking for an update, but haven't heard back from them. There is a live chat advertised on the site but it doesn't appear to be functional.

Was hoping I wouldn't have to phone them up, but looks like I might have to. I hadn't heard of them before seeing them recommended on MN. The experience I've had so far has put me right off them. Fortunately I paid with a credit card so should be able to claim for non-receipt of goods if nothing changes. In a bit of a pickle now though as I'm due to have my next dose on Monday next week. I had the last dose of my 2.5mg pen on Monday.

As it has only been one working day I would give it more time. I'd say most providers authorise within 1-3 working days. Once authorised orders are dispatched fairly quickly.

Falsettoisfalse · 06/08/2025 14:55

I wouldn't get too worried, the first time I ordered from your medicals it took two weeks! Kept fobbing me off with increased demand etc. Thought I'd been scammed lol, it's normal to take payments while it's processing, they all do this, having said that I'd still try and communicate with them to get a time scale.

myladyjane · 06/08/2025 15:12

Ohhhh @JuststartedWLI I had this and had a slight panic. Had used another provider previously who used to approve in a couple of hours of reorder so was kind of expecting the same so after 24 hours of pending I was getting a bit anxious. Turned out no need to panic - approved, sent and delivered within 48 hours of ordering, all fine. just a slightly different way of showing stuff to what I was used to but I got it in the same timeframe in the end.

I dont know that supplier but that isnt a long wait really, I would be more patient tbh

Redlightbulb · 06/08/2025 15:14

Yeah it's pretty common for an order to be at processing for a few days. Curate was once 2 weeks for me.
From experience & as others have said the usual time frame is within about 3 working days. With it taking longer for 1st orders.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was despatched by Fri, delivery on Sat.

This happened to me too! I researched and ordered from them as they seemed to be a good all rounder in terms of good discount on first order and then reasonable discount on future orders.

They asked for the selfie pics and I sent them straight away. Then they queried some dates on a previous medication which was 10-15 years ago and not relevant. I responded to that query that was sent on their portal within 10 mins. I had no response for 2 days. Then they sent me the same question again. Which I responded back being a bit annoyed about as I said I already sent that response 2 days earlier, and it even said completed on the portal when I'd looked the previous days, but on that day they'd changed it to say 'pending' again. They came back with an email then saying it was despatched. And I received it a day or 2 later. It was frustrating as I'd had it in my head I'd start on the Thursday as it would work better for me, but ended up starting last Saturday.
It did arrive though and I guess it wasn't too long overall considering most people are saying it takes a few days to despatch. It all arrived chilled and included the sharps bin etc.

Sounds like they're out of stock maybe, and stalling until they are restocked, med express have form for this too.

PringlesTube · 06/08/2025 22:14

Maybe a little more patience needed, you only submitted photos yesterday. I’ve been using IQ for a few months now and no problems. Bit harsh to call it a “bad experience”.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 06/08/2025 23:45

I also switched to them for 5mg this month. On the website it asked for proof of my previous prescription as I was ordering higher than the starter dose and the drop down next to this had only 2.5mg in it so I sent in that proof, but was confused as this isn’t my first 5mg pen so it was a while ago. I did wonder if that was what they really wanted. No place to add any comments or a second pic.

We stalled for a couple of days when they inevitably wanted my most recent order proof as well, but once approved it was dispatched the same day and arrived next day.

In the end it was 5 days from order to receipt so not too bad but I also stressed during the process! Very good price though…

PearlsPearl · 09/08/2025 11:11

I feel I should write on this thread because I think it's unfair to say, because you had to wait a whole day, it was a bad experience?!

Mine was 5 days from ordering to delivery, including sending pics and previous prescription. Faster than another provider I've used, and for £99 for a 5mg pen can't complain at all.

TragicMuse · 10/08/2025 14:51

I was with IQ Doctor with no problems till they cancelled my order - because of the other medications I take. These had all been declared at the first order and I had no changes but suddenly it wasn't accepted and they refused to sell to me any longer. There are no known contra-indications with the medication I'm on, and my GP and diabetes nurse are both in support of me taking Mounjaro so it was unexpected. I had to ask what had gone on, there was no information about what had changed, they were really unhelpful and lacking in information. Up til then it had been a good experience. I have a new supplier now, but it was quite irritating having to do all the photos again etc.

Not surprising more providers are doing more robust checks than they did previously for new and reviewing existing customers to ensure they can conform to the GPhC guidelines and document thoroughly their prescribing decisions.

This may mean some providers (specially the bigger, volume focussed, cheaper ones) choosing not to supply patients with more complex histories if they don't have the resources to ensure/document they are prescribing safely to them. They will be reviewing their processes and patients trying to not end up in enforcement if/when they get inspected.

It looks like the GPhC rules are starting to show in practice now. Jumping between providers is becoming less straightforward, some take longer to process so patients will need to plan carefully. Unfortunately, those with more complex medical history's may find they have less providers willing to prescribe to choose from and find it harder to switch.

JMSA · 10/08/2025 17:32

It hasn’t been long at all!

Boycee2474 · 19/08/2025 09:46

Thought I would change supplier as the supplier I was with hiked the price, went with iqdoctor, first delivery went OK, second order was totally messed up, the Mounjaro didn't arrive, Royal mail had it in their sorting office due to the address being a mixture of my billing address and my delivery address so it sat there in a sorting office for a week, I had no idea at this point, it must have been sent back to iqdoctor, in the meantime I'm £164 down, iqdoctor never answer the phone or respond to my emails.
Total cowboys!
