I have been on 5mg for about 3 months but noticed that I have been getting more hungry on that dose so went up to 7.5mg this morning. I am starving !! Do I need to jump to 10mg ??

Are you being serious?

It's been a few hours. You have 4 weeks of 7.5mg whatever happens with it, you cannot "jump to 10mg". Calm doon !!

SilenceInside · 29/07/2025 13:08

Yeah. You need to give the higher dose time to rise to its highest levels, and then give it 4 weeks for it to reach a stable level before deciding it isn’t working. Feeling hungry is not a problem. Eat something and try not to hyper focus on everything.

Peridot1 · 29/07/2025 13:10

No. You don’t need to jump to 10mg. The way the medications work is not all about appetite suppression. If you are hungry then eat! Eat protein and fibre and drink lots of water.

Make sure you are eating enough protein and fibre every day. Maybe you didn’t yesterday so are a bit more hungry today.

You need to eat something, and learn not to be afraid of hunger.

DesperatelySeekingHelp · 29/07/2025 13:25

Fair enough but have just had my lunch and still hungry. When i started on 2.5mg it surprised my appetite straightaway. Same with 5mg. I was just expecting the same with the 7.5mg

My dp moved onto 7.5 last Friday. By sat evening he couldn't eat a thing and has been full after 1 slice of toast and a small amount of scrambled egg. He says he has no appetite at all on this dose.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 29/07/2025 13:27

The level doesn't peak in your bloodstream until at least eight hours after the injection. If you experienced immediate suppression with previous doses then there was likely a partial placebo effect.

22O725 · 29/07/2025 13:28

What did you have for lunch? Even without WLI it would be strange to be hungry so soon after a meal. Are you eating enough?

DesperatelySeekingHelp · 29/07/2025 13:46

I had ham, potato and beetroot salad, a flat peach and a cereal bar. Usually more than enough to fill me up. Maybe I’m just having a hungry day

I took my first 7.5 dose this week after having barely any suppression the entire time I was on 5mg. Didn't notice anything the first day, but since day 2 have huge suppression. To the point t that I've just looked at the clock, noticed its 2pm and am thinking I better have my breakfast. Give it time x

TerrierCollector · 29/07/2025 15:02

I'm currently on 15mg, and I've had periods of being really quite hungry on all doses. I've still lost six stone in 10 months, so I don't think it's a big deal. You're always going to have peaks and troughs. In fact, I had a whole month where I was really hungry all the time, and I still lost (although less than in other months).

watchingplanesicantafford · 29/07/2025 15:06

There's no way it's worked that fast to stop all your hunger within four hours. It doesn't peak until at least 8 hours later, or longer for some people. Im on my fifth month and have mostly good suppression but the random day of much less / much more too.

MagnoliaTreePetals · 29/07/2025 17:01

I inject on a Wednesday, and find there is not much effect on the Thursday, but by Friday morning it has fully kicked in.
It then tapers off for me the day before I inject. So I think of the 2 days when it's not really effective as my 'practice for maintenance' days!

JohnTheRevelator · 29/07/2025 17:44

Give it time to work! I found that that the 2.5 and 5 mg doses didn't really do much to suppress my appetite but 3 or 4 days after starting on the 7.5 mg dose,I really did notice an effect. Patience is required! Good luck!

Redlightbulb · 29/07/2025 20:48

For me it takes about 30 hours after injecting to reach its peak. I inject late morning & I definitely don’t feel any effects that same day.
